"Apartment is fine, but the thing that annoys me most? No smoking, except by the owners of course. I’ve watched the owners walk in and out several times with fully lit cigarettes."
"I lived in this building for 5 years. Spanish Towers was great pre covid, it was cheap(for Boulder), great location, younger crowd, a nice big pool, meh upkeep on the building. It was a great place for a college kids to live. However, since COVID I would NOT recommend living here. The premises are not kept well at all, I found USED needles in the parking lot and the common area hallways. I emailed the HOA(Hudson Realty) and received no response. Eventually the needle in the parking lot was washed away by rain. This place is a HEP-C/HIV risk The laundry facilities are disgusting at best. The washers are disgusting and never cleaned. The utility room frequently floods and causes a huge disgusting mess that soils the floor and backs up into the sink. Frequently water is turned off the building for "maintenance", this probably happened at least 20 times over the course of 5 years. A few years ago we had no hot water for 2 weeks OVER THE WINTER. I had multiple packages stolen from the "package room" over 5 years. This room is basically cubbies with the only security being a keycard needed to access the room. I resorted to using Amazon lockers to prevent theft. The pool is beautiful but is not well kept, and is such a shame. This building has BEAUTIFUL bones, stained glass windows, Spanish tiling, a beautiful large pool, and a fun stucco exterior. However, the building has fallen into dispair. This building does have its own parking lot which is a great aspect to Boulder, but it is ridden with potholes. The process of getting a parking pass in an absolute pain and the HOA dispenses these passes. They make it incredibly difficult(cash only accepted, bring the lease, have to come at specific hours to meet them, very little appointment availability. rude staff). Once you get a parking pass, everything is fine. However, I recommend getting a yearly pass so its a one and done process. My complaints are not so much about the building but the HOA that manages it the building itself(common areas, parking, etc). Each unit is separately managed, so if you rent from a slum lord you are SOL. My first year I rented from a private landlord and has a wonderful experience. Each unit varies heavily on condition due to their private ownership, so do your research on who the landlord/property manager is, as that will dictate how your unit is kept. This review is for the common areas for Spanish Towers."
"Spanish Towers is classic. In Boulder, It's probably just as expensive as other places to live. Close to the CU campus and has a sweet indoor pool."
"Do not rent unit 310 from Paola Harris. The apartment is a one bedroom which has been converted into two. The two bedrooms have holes at the top of the walls making them not even separated. Additionally, the land lord, Harris, has since taken more than two months to return my security deposit."
"There have been ongoing problems in the apartment, maintenance is never available. Tried several times over the summer to get ahold of people for leaks from other apartments, broken toilet pipes, broken shower pipes in wall and a summer with no air conditioning. When someone was finally contacted they said they would be out the next day and didn’t come back out. The house is starting to smell moldy & unhealthy conditions."
