"The office lady in Bayfield is nothing short of a dishonest, incompetent liar. Getting a simple refill is a nightmare at best. Use any other propane service except Ferrellgas. You have been warned."
"Last year I was allowed to run out of gas twice. I am a will call customer and in both cases it took more than 2 weeks for a delivery to show up, This year I find the gas price Ferrell charges is .67 cents higher than their competitors price. In addition, I found the price to purchase my own tank from Ferrell is twice what the competition charges! I tried to be loyal to Ferrell but the cost to do business with them is just to high."
"I have been with Ferrell gas for years! Always a pleasurable interaction. I put in a request for partial fill 2 weeks ago. I’m now on 11% and no sign of fill in sight. Called and spoke to someone who said she’d get back to me and it’s been 3 days. Who pays for recheck if the tank goes empty?"
"I have service in Bayfield, Colorado. I am about to run out of propane in spite of being on 'auto fill' and having to manually put in TWO orders. A delivery attempt was made over two weeks after the first manual order, but the day of the attempt was a day after a big snow storm. Delivery never came and at the end of the day I signed into the portal to look at the status and the order was gone! I called customer service the following morning and was informed that the driver's notes said that county road 203 (it's 503) was not plowed and he couldn't drive on the road and he cancelled the order. CANCELLED! Like my need for propane goes away? The CS agent remarked that it seemed odd for him to do that, and initialed a new order which puts me back at the bottom of the list. I was told that to expedite the order would be a $200 charge and when I asked why she said because my driveway wasn't plowed. I said, 'read your notes, he never made it to my driveway'. She did and realized I was right but couldn't do anything about it. To add insult to injury, that morning when I was out plowing my driveway, I hear a truck coming up the road and thought it was my delivery. But no, it was another local propane provider. It took a few tries, but I watched this guy backup up hill on my neighbor's unplowed driveway...three times longer than mine...and deliver their propane. Guess who my new provider will be when spring comes around? So here I am, below 10%, 0 to 20 degree nights, waiting for another delivery, which by the way is 'due' the day before another snow storm. My bet is the same scenario will happen again. Everyone on the phone has been very nice and I would like to say helpful, except they really haven't been able to do anything to help me. I specifically put myself on auto fill so I didn't wind up in this situation. Now I'm buying up all the radiant heaters I can find in the area so I can at least make sure my house and family stay warm. The company as a whole seems to be liked, but I have to say the service from the local service center here in Bayfield is deplorable. *UPDATE* 3 days after initial review: Ferrellgas posts their reply. I responded by email within 30 minutes of their reply."
"Ferrell gas employees have left us with a leaking tank (knowingly) and filled it repeatedly (leaking our gas and money) they keep saying they are bringing a new tank right away! It's been 2 months and they refuse to bring a new tank but keep telling us they will be here in the next 3 days over and over. Saying management would call me right away,, over and over,, I still haven't got a call.. Now that we have went through several tanks out of my wallet while they acknowledged the leak, they are refusing to bring us gas or a new tank unless we pay AGAIN! ... they are doing this to numerous people in the Durango area charging them for gas and giving them a leaky tank and not fixing it (there is a facebook post about this)... Ferrell gas is a bunch of crooks and they are going to regret this!"
