Escalante Village

"We're planning on building our tiny house this year and stumbled upon this little housing community by chance. It's a private residence, so we only drove by it once, but we absolutely loved the idea and got lots of inspiration just driving past."

"Escalante Village is a wonderful place to live! The people who have brought in their tiny houses are great. All friendly, helpful, and interested in seeing others living Tiny. We have enjoyed all of the Village accommodations as they are specifically set up for Tiny House living. The owner of Escalante is a wonderful guy who has made it his goal for each of us as house owners (or renters) to have a great place to live and to be able to share our experiences with other Tiny House residents. We have no negative experiences with Escalante or the residents. Most of us have dogs and other pets, which makes it nice for community parties and interactions. We are so thankful for the efforts put forth by the owner of Escalante (Bob)... living in such a wonderful place would not have been possible without Bob's personal efforts and dedication."

"My husband and I love living in Escalante Village! We feel so fortunate to have found this wonderful community of people and the owner, Bob, has such a huge heart. You can truly see how much he cares about this community and the well-being of the people in it. And the village itself is fantastic: it's incredibly dog-friendly (I think at least 80% of us have at least one dog), steps from the Animas River Trail, bordered by mountains, on a quiet side street but close to Durango's big box shopping area. And now the landscaping is going in! I can't wait to see the finished product."

"I was one of the first that moved into Escalante Village. There was a lot of effort put into this Village to get it ready to drive my Tiny Home in. Was it ready? No, but we just got some beautiful landscaping and it is looking pretty good. I love living here. Everyone in the Village is gracious in helping me, the oldest one here, with anything I need. Almost everyone has a dog so my dog has lots of friends. We have great places for a dog to walk as we are right next to the river path. Is everything perfect? No, but Bob, the owner of the property, has been very gracious in including us in making some of the decisions regarding Escalante Village."

"Living at Escalante Village has been an incredible experience! Bob, the owner, is generous, kind, and always asking for input from the residents before making decisions that affect the community. Everyone in the Village chips in to support and help one another when there is a need-it’s pretty amazing! Pets are very welcome here - over half of the residents have a dog and responsibly pick up after their pet daily. We love tiny living on the Animas River!"
