Our cheeses are made seasonally, only when our cows are grazing on green grass, resulting in exceptional flavor year-round.
Our cheese selection includes Young Belford, a creamy and mild cheese that melts well and is loved by kids, and Mature Belford, a sharp and creamy table cheese that pairs perfectly with beer, wine, and fruits. We also offer a smooth natural rind blue cheese with hints of cream and smoky mushroom flavors.
Our cows are fed only grass in the summer and hay in the winter, resulting in healthier products with higher levels of Omega-3 fatty acids, beta carotene, CLA, and vitamins E and A. We treat our cows with care and respect, using homeopathy and natural supplements for ailments.
By exclusively grazing our herd, we manage the land in a conscientious way, promoting biodiversity, clean water, and a balanced ecosystem. Our milk is handled carefully, with fresh warm milk pumped straight to the cheese vat for production. We age our cheeses for 60 days to 3 years in our aging caves, resulting in truly special and delicious products.

"We discovered James Ranch Market and Grill last fall and have visited them several times through the winter. We both really enjoyed the taste of their grass fed beef and their own Belford cheese served at the Grill. The Market has a variety of locally produced beef, bison, pork and lamb. It also carries other regionally produced foods that are home grown. I’ve been in agriculture my entire life and it’s great to see a local family owned ag business thrive with so many great local products. I can’t say enough about the way this family has made the James Ranch into an experience."
"Awesome spot for kids. Food is really good. The only complaint is they cook in seed oil (rice bran oil) which is pretty unhealthy (although, they may still be unaware of the dangers of seed oils). For an all natural ranch, they should be cooking (frying) in their own beef tallow which would be much healthier."

"Can't say enough about how great this place was! I went here for dinner with my dad and not only was the food exceptional but the ranch is gorgeous. I highly recommend grabbing the steak sandwich or the burger (all grass fed beef) and sitting at the picnic tables so you can look at the pastures/mountains while you eat. Google maps location is off though. Make sure you pass Honeyville on your left and then James Ranch will be on your right shortly thereafter. Enjoy!"
