"I had a poor experience overall with Dr Boyle's office, I am on the fence on going back again because the Dr and Nurse were excellent in person. My issues were scheduling (office forgot about my appointment), billing and poor attitude from the front desk. I made an appointment a month in advance over the phone, I arrived 15 minutes early as requested to fill out paperwork. The office didnt open that early so I waited in the building until they did open. Then the front desk gal advised that I did not have an appointment and they mailed me a letter telling me they had to change my appt. Which I never received. They had my phone # and email address but sent me a letter during covid 19 issues with the post office? She was very abrupt that she didnt think anyone was available and that it was my fault for showing up to my scheduled appt. The nurse and dr rushed to fit me in between other appointments which is a partial complaint in itself that I got rushed through. Billing - At the time I booked my appointment I asked about the billing codes and procedures for the appt I had setup (a fully body scan as I hadn't had that done before on the moles) so that there wouldn't be surprises on the bill. I called the insurance co with the code they gave and confirmed I was going to be billed for a specialist copay $55. A month later I received a bill for over $200. After calling the insurance co, the Dr. office billed me for a surgical procedure to take a sample of (1) mole and send it to the lab for testing. I thought that was part of the overall procedure. Unfortunately no one mentioned this was a separate procedure and would charge more money. I am half to blame for not asking more about this but again I was rushed through the whole appointment and frustrated with the scheduling / front desk issues. So $200+ it is. The good news is that the Dr and the nurse (whos name escapes me) were very friendly and warm. They also explained the procedure on what they were doing and expectations on timeframe best and worst case scenarios and their follow ups after the appt with test results were quick and easy to understand."
"I've only seen Dr Boyle once in the 6 or more times that I've been there and I'm okay with that. She was very quick to end the appointment, (less than 10 minutes) as if she didn't have time to spend with me. I have however seen Kelly Pavelich and she is wonderful, really takes her time and explains each procedure and how it will affect me. If Kelly ever decides to leave this office I would follow her."
"I'm only giving it two stars because I liked consulting with Dr. Boyle's associate Kelly Pavelich, PA-C. Unfortunately, she has no idea how much her office charges for procedures. She wanted me to try a preventive test to see if I had genetic markers indicating possible future melanoma development. They'd apply stickers to remove skin samples and send off to a lab. She said if it came back negative, that I could start coming to the office once a year instead of twice a year. She also said that most insurance covers it, but if they don't, it would only cost around $50. WELL. My results came back negative. So that's good. But she still wants to see me twice a year and won't provide me with a 12-mo prescription of my medication like she used to, which would force me to come in again in 3 months instead of 6 or 12 months. I also received a bill from the lab for $2400. Luckily insurance covered all but $100 of it. But then I got another bill from Boyle's office claiming that I had a full-on biopsy performed and owed them $169 that wasn't covered by insurance. So for this diagnostic test I was on the hook for $269. That's insane. I'm not going back to this office ever again. I'll find someone else so I don't have to risk having an even higher bill next time I go in."
"I've gone to see Dr. Boyle twice and referred my boyfriend to her also. The office itself is a bit run down and the receptionist seemed annoyed when I checked in. The wait to get an appointment was short and the lobby wait after checkin was short. The first time I went to find the cause of two different types of rashes that had been misdiagnosed twice by a primary care doctor. She was able to take a skin biopsy of one of them to confirm it was not fungal in origin. She was very professional and seemed very knowledgeable. She provided two kinds of ointments for two different rashes. Unfortunately, neither of them worked. I returned to have her look at suspicious possible skin cancer. Again, same experience. Unfriendly receptionist. No real wait. Dr Boyle came promptly into the room, was very friendly, took about 3 seconds to look at the skin area in question and said it was fine but we could freeze it and to schedule an annual exam and done. The billing staff was friendly and efficient. My problem is that I felt VERY rushed, I left not knowing what this was on my skin and whether I should be concerned. I have since found another similar suspicious possible skin cancer. I will go to a different doctor because I'm honestly not sure if Dr Boyle diagnosed it? I'm still not sure what happened during that appointment, everything happened so fast. Very odd."
"This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had while visiting a doctor. I had never been to a dermatologist, but needed to regarding my face and it being overly dry, but also decided to get an over all body screen. I needed to get undressed and Dr. Boyle came in took down my shirt to "check me" then left it open while she talked to me. I felt totally uncomfortable!!! When she finally told me to get dressed ( I had to ask if I could) one of her staff members walked in on me and did not turn around and leave - she continued to stay in the room while I was getting dressed! Dr. Boyle was totally fixated on the body check instead of what I actually when in for. She did not spend accurate amount of time to do a proper diagonals on me. She did the same as Liz and gave me a hand full of samples. She WOULD NOT listen to me when I spoke either. Then she took it upon herself to remove a mole which I was not explained that it would be removed and now I have racked up a bill for over $350! I recently had surgery on my mouth and it did not cost this much! I am definitely going to make a complaint - this is not good practice!"
