Back Country Inn

"Our home in the Norwood community is small without much room for guests. So when family members visited recently, we treated them to a room for a few days at the Back Country Inn. They loved it! It was convenient, comfortable, quiet & nicely decorated. They were delighted with the breakfast room & great choices for a quick easy bite before heading out for the day. The staff was very friendly & helpful too."

"We arrived just before 5:00 pm on Friday. The office was closed and locked up, even though they say they are open from 9:00 – 5:00. We did not see anyone from the inn the entire time we were there. The room we rented can house four people, yet there were only two bath towels provided. We used them the first morning. I called the only number provided asking for fresh towels. Instead of a return call, I received a text message that said: “Sorry we do not have service on the weekends, due to short staff. I am in Grand Junction and cannot assist you at this time.” This was not mentioned anywhere on the reservation site. We had to go to the Dollar Store and buy towels so that we could take showers. If you decide to book your stay with this establishment, bring your own towels because you won’t get any type of service from this inn. You will be on your own. Had I known their policy, I would have booked elsewhere. Maybe the Rimrock Hotel in Naturita provides better service. Good luck!"

"A nice, clean little out of the way spot on our journeys through Colorado. It's a great spot to stay if you want to get to Ouray and not go through the million dollar highway which can be treacherous. That's why we picked going to Norwood and came around the other way and past Telluride along the way. Actually the views are incredibly stunning on that route. But the innskeeper was very nice, the rooms were clean, the price was great and it was just what we needed. Even some breakfast food in the morning was an added plus. I would definitely stay there again."

"This was a pretty nice little motel that was located just 7 miles from where my niece lives. We were there for her graduation from high school and drove down from Grand Junction that morning. Since her parents had a party for her back home after the ceremony was over, we knew that we would not want to drive all the way back to G.J. in the dark, so this place was perfect. I have zero complaints about cleanliness, but it would be really cool if they would use some WD-40 on the hinges of the bathroom door in room 7 - maybe others as well. There were 3 of us in the room, and every time someone got up to use the restroom it squeaked very loudly and woke everyone up. Also, if I owned that place, I would alter the layout of at least our room (#7). I would put the Queen-sized bed back where the bunk beds and wardrobe are at so that there would be room on both sides of the bed instead of having the one side jammed up against the wall by the window and the A/C unit. And most of the empty electrical outlets were either way over by the bunk beds, or behind the entertainment center which was very heavy, but I managed to slide it out about an inch so that we could use those outlets to charge all of our devices up again."
