"The C.G. Jung Institute of Colorado is a center for classes, study groups, and gatherings for film-watching and film-discussing, as well as other special events that promote Jungian psychology. The institute offers education to the general public, and training for therapists who wish to become Jungian analysts. The CGJIC - the C.G. Jung Institute of Colorado - is known for its “classically Jungian” approach. There are other training programs that are oriented differently; they address the work of Jung’s “descendants” as much (or even more) than the works of Jung himself. Caveat emptor! I’ve attended the Saturday study group, which was taught in rotation by CGJIC analysts. I’ve also attended special classes or presentations on weekday evenings. These various events were typically experiences of high quality - well taught, informative, and thought-provoking. Occasionally, one or another of the analysts depends too much on audio/visual aids - usually power-points or film clips that do not always function as expected. I think that presenters should only use such equipment if they can troubleshoot for themselves. Sometimes, they need help from students to overcome technical problems! Furthermore, these extras do not usually add a lot. Just talking works fine. The institute has an exceptional library that loans books to the general public. All of Jung’s books are there, of course, and so are all of the other books written about Jungian psychology over the years. Maybe not “all,” but it seems that way! Some of the books are quite special and even rare. I strongly recommend their yearly conference, usually held at the beginning of June. The conference presents a number of lectures and discussions over the course of two days. The institute also usually offers a special midsummer event, too. The website provides a good look at the current offerings, and the rich past history, of this exceptional organization."
