"I've been at green valley since 3rd grade and now I'm in 5th! I really love this school the teachers are great and they push you to do your best and tomorrow which is Tuesday we will be doing our parcc testing and I can't wait we just got back from spring break and I really missed my friends and teachers! When I first came to this school I had many friends and I still do all the wonderful kids there are great and friendly! Bring your child to this school now!"
"I have had the worst experience at this school. I received a letter that stated my son would be enrolled in afternoon classes for ECE-4 and it turns out they enrolled him in morning classes, No one ever contacted me to inform me of this change. I am a single mother who works a full time job. Now, I have to adjust my schedule to meet my sons needs. They have no communication what so ever with families. They have been the worst to deal with!!!!!!!!!"
"I went to this school for 6 years (pre-school to Fourth grade) and unfortunately this was my last year here. this is a great school there's wonderful teachers who really care about you and push you to do your best, the lunch isn't terrible some dishes are great some are bad but its ok. the dress code isn't crazy but there is a uniform (blue green black white and tan) but the only thing that sucked is Mr.Mills the old principle, was amazing he was a great leader and the school was really fun and great but, he left and now the principle is Ms.TJ, she's a good principle but the fall carnival wasn't as fun and the school kind of went down the drain .But still this is a great school you should definitely take your child here."
"My son has been going to Green Valley elementary now for 4 grade years (kindergarten-3rd grade). The Principal Keith Mills came that first year and turned the school around from an underachieving school to one that Mayer Hancock visited to pay tribute to for the highest test scores in the city. My son excelled under his leadership and was in accelerated classes. Sadly Mr. Mills retired at the end of my son's 2nd grade year. This last school year was horrible under the "leadership" of the schools new principle Ms. T.J. and had dropped in teacher commitment as well as test scores. Not only did the school drop the accelerated programs but my son barely learned anything throughout the entire school year. It was SOO BAD that he would come home and not know how to do the 5 PAGES of homework he was given MON-THURSDAY. My wife and I were the ones staying up late every night after work teaching him how to do it. When we went to speak to the principle we were told that we CAN'T SPEAK TO HER, AND NEED TO REFER ALL COMPLAINTS/QUESTIONS TO THE TEACHER!(something Mr. Mills would never have us do!) When we went to the teacher ALL blame was shifted to our son. With respect to the teacher we talked to our son believing that maybe he was just having a rough year, and tried to work with the teacher. But things only got worst and worst. ALL they do at this school is prepare their students for whats ONLY on the next state test in order to look good (which if you look at their scores online they still failed at doing!) They have 15 teachers resigning this year do to poor leadership one of the teachers told my wife, and they also Told my wife that Principle Ms. TJ worried about her own reputation changed the teaching structure at the school to favor state testing even at the cost of her students education and future success in life. I could go on and on but I will simply sum it up with this; IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO BE CARED FOR, RESPECTED, ACKNOWLEDGED, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY EDUCATED!!! DO NOT SEND THEM TO GREEN VALLEY ELEMENTARY!!! so sad that I have to say that after all that Keith Mills, and some good teachers did to pull that school out of the gutter! Way to spit on all they did Ms. TJ and Green Valley Ranch Elementary. Needless to say my son will never step foot in your school again."
"I went to that school a long time ago, its been 7 years now. But that elementary school isn't that bad, but yeah I guess they do need better teachers by thinking of it right now, I don't know if it had changed. To be honest I enjoyed that school, I have so much memories that I could tell. I remember from that school we used to go to a lot of field trips, I was always excited :)"
