"I went here when i was like 6 or 7 (im 15 now) and it was awful. Seriously i dreaded going every single day, i saw everything first hand. I had a learning disability and had to eat special food and they treated me very poorly compared to the other Kids. The teachers definitely had favorites. There was this one teacher who would make spoon flowers and shed give them to her favorite student but when i asked for one because i found them beautiful she was very rude about it. One time it was my birthday and they did this thing where they had us make cup cakes and other fun things. they gave me a book that i read to the class and then they took pictures and put it into a little book. it was made of printed pictures and construction paper and you had to pay for it. I think its was around $30. The whole time people were very rude to me. I also remember getting bullied by this one girl hard core, she would beat me up and when id tell the teachers of this they would say i was lying and ignore me. I would get bullied by lots of the other kids and anytime id tell the teachers they would ignore me and say i was the one causing problems. I was a difficult kid yes but either way bullying is entirely unacceptable within a learning facility. I was constantly outcasted by the Students and teachers because of my ADHD which apparently made me lesser of a person even though half the kids there probably had ADHD as well. The staff were very aggressive, dismissive, disrespectful, and rude. It was very rare there was an actually decent teacher there and they would usually quit really fast due to not being able to handle the rude staff members. I wouldn’t recommend this daycare to anyone honestly… im not sure who its run by now or if they’ve made changes to the rude and insufferable staff but the owner when i went there was an absolute jerk. I was treated very poorly and I hated every second at this daycare and hope it closes down from a rat infestation or something anything really that would make their lives difficult lol."
"We’ve been a part of the school for just over 4 months now. Ms. Annette is great teaching structure with my toddler and he’s doing well in a social setting with kids his age. We are thankful we found the center. The Director Kristen and admin staff is great at responding to questions through the day."
"We absolutely love this school! Our kid has excelled, and rave about ALL of the teachers. Everyone is so nice and you’re always greeted with a smile. Very clean and safe environment, they update you throughout the day, and attentive to anything you ask. 100% recommend La Petite Thornton."
"I really hate that most of these reviews are super negative! As an employee and parent of this La petite, I absolutely love it here for my son. Ms. Annette is absolutely wonderful with him and everyday he comes home saying a new word. We have been here almost a year now. My director, Kristen, is the most understanding, compassionate and amazing director I have ever had. I’m proud to be apart of this awesome place! Thank you to Ms. Annette for taking such wonderful care of my son"
"My children attended this daycare for over 2 years. First, let me give the positive. Ms Jessie was great with my kids, always treated them kindly and with respect. And my children loved her. She's awesome! Ms Jennifer, who was previously the assistant director, was also amazing with my children, and we were sad to see her go last year. Also, my younger child made lots of friends and was overall happy at this daycare. They do get lots of time to play outside, although at times I think their days lacked structure. As a preschool program, I thought they would focus a little more on learning new things, and not as much on free play. My school aged child was never really happy there, mainly because there are a couple of long-standing staff members there that, in my opinion, just aren't great with kids. There were several instances over the years where my child informed me that staff members were less than nice to the kids. My child would say "The teachers act nice when parents are around, but they're not nice and yell all the time when parents leave." There is one staff member in particular that said things to my child like "Your mom thinks you're a little angel, but you're not" or "Your sister behaves better than you". She once put her finger into my child's chest when talking to him, and grabbed his arm another time. I'm not okay with my child being spoken to this way, or with an adult putting their hands on my child in any way shape or form, unless it is to keep them from getting hurt. I did voice my concerns, every time, with the previous director, Connie. It seemed that she would continuously shift the blame to my child, and said she would speak to the staff member, but it only made it worse. On one occasion, after Connie addressed my concerns with said staff member, the staff member approached my child about the situation, in essence calling him a liar. This is a staff member that has been employed by La Petite for over 20 years, she should know not to approach a child about a concern that a parent has brought up against her. I ended up switching my children to another program, and let La Petite know we would only need care on certain school breaks, which was agreed to. With my older child not enjoying coming to this daycare, I did not want to do this, but really had no other option. But, then, I was told they actually don't have room for my children for "drop in" care, that I would need to call and check each time I need care. I am disappointed that after attending for over 2 years, my children don't even have their spots saved for school breaks. But, maybe it is for the best."
