"Very disappointed in our stay. We wanted a nice getaway in Glenwood Springs and chose this place because it looked nice online and was in a great location. The hotel is undergoing a full renovation which makes the gallery, and most of the lobby inaccessible. Nowhere on the website did it mention this would be happening when we booked. We booked a gallery room so we had no outside windows, but windows to the gallery. These windows were boarded up with construction materials due to the renovation, and the room felt like a tomb as a result. In the early morning, we were awoken suddenly with what sounded like a loud party of people talking and laughing. We found that our room was located directly below housekeeping and the sound was radiating through the floor. I realize that this is an old hotel, but for a room that cost more than $400/night I expect some level of insulation from sound outside of the room. The bed was comfortable and the room itself was pleasant. It is in a great location that is around the corner from a few good restaurants. The staff was friendly. Overall we were disappointed with our stay due to the unexpected construction. It was not worth it relative to the price that we paid and will be looking elsewhere next time we're in Glenwood."
"We were very excited and saved up almost $400 to spend an evening at this historic hotel in Glenwood Springs, and boy were we highly disappointed. The booking process was extremely misleading and difficult, especially because nowhere were we warned about the full renovation (even after a couple phone calls speaking to them about the booking process). We were met with plastic covered walls and ceilings, but again, had no warning whatsoever. Also, the pet fee was very high and the hotel was not at all flexible about checkout times. Bummer!"
"We stayed one night (Saturday in February) at the Hotel Denver and really enjoyed our stay. We were able to check in as soon as we got there about 30 minutes after check-in time started and the check-in process was a breeze. They are doing renovations on the lobby/main floor but we weren't bothered by it at all. Our king room on the fourth floor was perfect for the two of us. The bed was comfortable and the room felt very welcoming and was very clean. The gentleman at the front desk when we checked in and checked out was extremely helpful and we enjoyed our interactions with him. We would definitely stay here again. You really can't beat the location being right in downtown and extremely accessible to the train stations, hot springs, and lots of great restaurants."
"Delightful Surprise in Glenwood Springs: I recently visited The Hotel Denver during a weekend getaway to explore the charming mountain town of Glenwood Springs. Nestled near the vibrant downtown area, the hotel offered a perfect blend of history and modern comfort. While the hallways held a hint of vintage charm, my room impressed me with its contemporary update. Sunlight streamed through the large bathroom windows, showcasing the charming wooden shutters and a beautiful mosaic tile floor. The modern fixtures and spacious shower added a touch of luxury. Despite ongoing renovations, the staff, especially the helpful girl at the front desk, went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience. The temporary setup had a cozy bed and breakfast feel, transitioning seamlessly into the modern comfort of my room. For breakfast, I enjoyed the convenient coffee shop downstairs, and exploring the quaint Mona Lisa boutique was a delightful bonus. If you're seeking a comfortable and stylish base for your Glenwood Springs adventures, The Hotel Denver is worth considering. Whether you're drawn to the hot springs, mountain hikes, or the vibrant downtown, this hotel offers a charming and well-located option."
"Great location! I selected it due to it's location across from the train station. Service is fine, but nothing to write home about. My room, 204, was very nice and spacious with great views. It was a King Signature Boutique room. Bathroom was the weak point of the room. The shower took forever to heat up ...like 10 minutes. Other things about the bathroom seemed a little off, but everything generally worked and was more or less clean. They only service rooms after 3 days, which for the price they charge isn't adequate. The amount of toilet paper, washcloths, and soap doesn't match the number of days. Some reviews say free parking, but it's $20 a night. Sounds carry really well at this property, but other than maids working and construction noise from remodeling, it wasn't too bad. I would prefer a property without pets around, I did hear dogs from time to time."
