"We fell in love with this ranch when we were seeking a venue for my daughter’s and her fiancé’s wedding. We booked the venue with the plan of a weekend celebration with family and friends. In January we were made aware that they wouldn’t be able to accommodate part of our lodging and we worked out a solution that worked out for all parties. I appreciate their willingness to work with us. They were always friendly, professional and attentive. What a beautiful ranch with a gorgeous Mountain View!"
"I came from out of state with my wife and hunted the public land around the ranch. We loved the lay of the land and the plentiful wild life. We ended up being successful in our hunt and were able to visit the headquarters to purchase some beef before going home. The manager was very friendly to us and other hunters as we navigated around their property during our trip. The access points for public land hunting are fair considering their operation. I will be back to explore more of what the ranch has to offer, and for more beef!"
"I recently attended a 3-day conference on Regenerative Agriculture at the High Lonesome Ranch. The experience was excellent! I am so grateful to the Guest Services Team for the many ways they made my day comfortable and memorable. The Guest Services Manager, Ace, is a rockstar. She is welcoming, very organized, and accommodating. The views all around the ranch are gorgeous. Make sure to prioritize watching the sunrise and sunset each day. They are spectacular."
"We are archery hunters from out of state and came to hunt the BLM land surrounding the property. We used OnX to respect the land and find public access points. We hiked 5-11 miles daily around the property. We were lucky to put an arrow in an elk, unlucky to do it right after a hailstorm which made the mountains extremely muddy and slippery. With the truck parked 5 miles away up and down a cumulative several thousand feet of elevation, we decided to try calling HL Ranch to allow access to the private road below our ridge to have a safer pack out that would be quicker to ensure meat preservation. The new manager was more than willing to help recover the animal, as we had respected the private land while going after the elk on the surrounding public land. We met the whole staff later and ended up buying some grass fed beef to take home (extremely delicious so far!!). The whole operation of HL Ranch is impressive and they have made serious steps to improve the land after the 2020 fire. It is a beautiful landscape, and the ranch is all about preserving and improving the natural wildlife habitat for fauna while sustainably raising grass fed cattle. This place is so beautiful that if I wasn't already married, I'd use this place as my wedding venue. Loved every moment of those mountains."
"This past weekend I attended the ranch's first paragliding event. I was absolutely blown away by the location, service, and experience in general! Each member of staff I had the pleasure to interact with was kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They worked incredibly hard to make the event a success, and it was! The location itself was gorgeous, wild and raw, but with just the right amount of comforts (bar, shower, pool, etc). I am certain my sentiments were shared by the rest of the attendees, we had an incredible 4 days. Thank you so much for all the hard work! I also want to mention that it was surprisingly interesting to learn a bit about how the ranch itself operates and the pioneering work they are doing with land conservation and development/implementation of best modern ranching practices. I brought home some beef from happy cows that I feel good about and can't wait to try. Thanks again, I'm looking forward to visiting soon!"
