"Unfortunately, the area is just many piles of rocks. At least there are plaquards, or I would have had a clue there was something there to see."
"Huge site and easy to find from the north side. But if you are looking to find a lot of ruins look else where. These are unrecognizable and are more like big piles of rock. Still a nice outing with great views"
"Nice trail, interesting information on history of dwellings and area on plaques throughout trail. Good diagrams on plaques letting you know where you are at. The information also explains many ruins you are looking at. Know these are very deconstructed, piles of stone at this point. You can make our shapes once you look at diagrams and see the wall. There are no amenities at trailheads and you are about 30 minutes from town so be prepared. Packed it in- pack it out policy. Some shade. Well marked trails but know there is loose rocks, uneven ground, and stairs made of native stone."
"Amazing to camp in the places where our ancestors lived. This national monument is huge and magical. Free primitive dispersed camping in their footsteps. Many ruins to explore. Knowledgeable park staff answer questions, direct you to appropriate camping and viewing locations."
"The Pueblo side of Sand Canyon Trail has some beautiful scenery but the ruins are quite difficult to see. Since I was out during the late morning afternoon, temperatures ran over 100 degrees and the trail has little shade. Bring plenty of water and supplies and consider the other trail as a stater (I understand its more scenic)."
