"Made reservation directly with booking agent over the phone. I called the number listed for Days Inn on their website and gave my credit card number and was sent a confirmation of booking with total amount charged. I showed up to check in, they tried to send me to a different hotel and tell me my rate is more than what I solidified with the booking agent and what was posted on the email confirmation! This has been the most sketchy experience I’ve ever had with ANY HOTEL!! It’s not only unprofessional, it’s bad business. It seems like there is money laundering going on here with this whole taking reservations for one hotel then sending them to another hotel- that they didn’t agree to- and charging them more ontop of price that was set by direct booking agent. You have made my skin crawl. I can’t believe I’ve been duped like this. So many inconsistencies from booking directly with you, how could this happen?! Who even approved this and I highly encourage corporate to check these books because this isn’t adding up! Money is getting tucked away with “hidden fees” while guests get sent on a wild goose chase. How are you even able to take money and print a bill with a letter head for a stay that didn’t even occur at your property?! This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I denied this rodeo scheme and took my business somewhere I can trust. It is absolutely essential that your booking agents know that the Days Inn by Wyndham Cortez is taking bookings for a hotel that is being remodeled and is actively sending their guests to other hotels then forced to pay more “hidden fees”. Mind is blown. Congratulations on creating a situation that I have never witnessed before. Not even in a third world country would I expect this creepiness. That’s like placing an order for pizza at Dominos over the phone, paying for it and when you show up they give you a receipt and tell you the restaurant isn’t actually working and that they sent my order to Pizza Hut but that I would need to also pay Pizza Hut their extra fees in order to get my pizza. It’s WILD that you think that’s okay. I see a review from a year ago that the same thing happened to someone else so I believe this is illegal business practices/fraudulent. This is so so so VERY VERY BAD!!!"
"Very clean room which i might also add was very tiny. It was just me so the space wasn't needed. It was very Comfortable, Clean and Perfect for just one person. I did have single accommodations here. Breakfast here is Continental, but other then yogurt, there was no protein at this breakfast. Hard boiled eggs would have been nice but they chose to have nothing but yogurts, fruits, Carbohydrates, juices and coffee... Very Clean. I did my booking through a third party and received a good deal."
"The room was too small. You had to go in sideways to go in the bathroom. The toilet was square (never seen that) with a round seat. I've stayed at many a hotel during my time and they all had elongated bowls, except this one. The TV was too far from the bed and had a very small screen. The channel changer on the remote didn't work most of the time. The heat was on (we couldn't control it) to the point that I couldn't sleep. I turned on the A/C to counteract it."
"Rooms were spacious and clean. Yeah, I guess there were some spots in the carpeting, but you’re not staying at the Ritz people. So many reviews coming from entitled Americans who don’t want to pay for quality, but expect it when booking for a bargain. Place was clean, beds were soft, breakfast more than adequate."
"unfortunately the only positive thing I have to say is that it is easily located in Cortez. The carpet in the room was visibly dirty with mud clumps and stains, the furniture is VERY dated with trim peeling off, the bed was OK, but due to the uncleanliness of the rest of the room we thoroughly checked for bedbugs, (none). the bathroom was visibly dirty- black hairs all over the floor and the tub, shower. Several tiles missing from floor trim- in general the whole place was not a good environment."
