Reviews
"The burger was so good. We were greeted by Larry as soon as we walked in. He was very nice and gave us some recommendations on what to order. We had the birria burger, the boss burger and the truffle fries. Everything was so delicious. Larry is definitely a great asset to this establishment. He made us feel welcomed and even gave us some recommendations on things to do as tourist while downtown. 10/10 recommend."
"To start, service was exceptional. The person at the front did everything everywhere and worked super hard and was very nice and even gave us a free drink for the wait. The food came relatively quick, all good for 5 burgers. The food itself was okay, it looked really good but the taste itself was ok, not bad but not amazing. The ingredients tasted well but the burgers were in my opinion slightly overpriced, I understand it’s a small business but it was pricey. The burgers could be more juicy and more seasoned. In general it was a nice experience in Denver, ok food, very good service."
"First time here. Nice burger joint downtown Denver. Ordered the King Birrias burger, waffle fries and dr.pepper. The fountain Dr. Pepper awesome. The waffle fries cooked perfect with the dipping sauce, ancho ailoli ranch, delicious. The burger not delish. The braised beef was dripping with grease and the dipping sauce had way too much grease at the top. Took pics. To make things worse, I ordered the ancho ailoi ranch to use as my dipping sauce instead and was told I had to pay for the extra sauce. Ordered 2 as the container was tiny. Charged $2.94. Insult to pay $3 more to make my burger taste better and avoid the clogging grease. Doesn't look like this burger joint will be my TO-GO place in downtown Denver when I visit 4x a month for work OR recommend for that matter. Can't give opinion on other burgers but if I have to pay extra to make other burgers taste better like this one, I'll pass and eat elsewhere. 1st time eating here and possibly the last. UPDATE to owner I understand you make it fresh and you want to charge but I shouldn't have to pay $3 more to make my burger taste better especially to avoid all that grease. Send me a voucher for my return and I'll be glad to come try again. If not, no thanks I'll make 5280 Burger Bar my go to burger place. Have always had success there. Won't ever RECOMMEND this place."
"Service and establishment were excellent. However, the burgers look better than they taste. Not seasoned at all. Our onion rings were overcooked, but the sauce that comes with is delicious. Will not return."
"Another food review from Charlie - I recently ordered from Illegal Burger and tried their Truffle Fries and BBQ Burger. While the food was tasty, one downside was that the sauce came at an additional cost, which was disappointing considering the already higher price of the burger. The Truffle Fries were flavorful and had a nice aroma, adding a touch of luxury to the meal. The BBQ Burger had a delicious smoky flavor and the patty was cooked to perfection. Despite the extra charge for the sauce, the overall taste of the food at Illegal Burger was enjoyable, making it a decent option for a satisfying burger experience."
