"We are so happy with Focus on Kids - everything about this practice has exceeded our expectations! We found Dr Kania before our son was born in 2022 and the team at Focus has been the most reliable, accessible, caring medical team I’ve ever encountered. The front desk staff is wonderful - helpful, attentive and kind. We have seen every physician and most PAs at the practice and we have been really happy with everyone we’ve seen. We feel like they take the time to really understand what’s going on, they listen to our questions and truly care about making the right decision for our child. We have never felt rushed at appointments, wait times have always been reasonable, and communication with our providers has been easy especially with the patient portal. We really can’t say enough good things about our doctor and this whole practice. We tell everyone how lucky we are to have found them!"
"Focus on Kids is the best! My son has been seeing Dr. Kania since he was born. When he was a newborn she helped me navigate breast feeding and making sure he hit all his milestones. As he has grown (he’s now 5) he has become so attached to her and actually loves going to see her. He will regularly tell people that Dr. Kania isn’t his doctor, but his friend. Dr. Kania has a wonderful bedside manner and I trust her medical judgment. My son will be a patient with Dr. Kania as long as she is practicing! She has given me parenting advice along the way that helps with any issues we may have! My son also regularly sees Mitch if Dr. Kania is not available. He has the most relaxed and easy going personality that will instantly put my son at ease. He takes his time and asks my child about how he is feeling instead of just going off the history I provided. This gives my son a chance to have a say in his healthcare and helps him to feel like he is in control and listened to. The MAs are always delightful and have a real knack for getting my child to cooperate with whatever they are needing to do. I absolutely love when we are fortunate enough to work with the MA Jill. She is super friendly and playful with my child. She is the best at administering immunizations so my son is comfortable and hardly even cries! I absolutely love Focus on Kids and they are a true treasure!"
"My family has been going to focus on kids for many years - including when I was a child. Now I have children of my own and they see Dr. Kania. Not only has she always been so incredible with my kids, but she listens to our concerns and offers several options for us to select from. My husband and I have felt fully supported and cared for, and our children love the staff so much that they actually look forward to their well visits. The level of detail and care that Dr. Kania puts in is unmatched."
"As a first-time mom, I had no idea where to start with finding a pediatrician. After searching on Google and Word of Mouth Littleton, Focus on Kids came highly recommended. From our first visit, I knew these doctors truly cared about their patients and parents. My son had to have light therapy due to his high bilirubin levels and Dr. Murphy/Dr. Frand made the process so easy and guided me through my panic. My son was seen by all the doctors during his first few weeks as his levels had to be rechecked often and his weight was dropping - they all were so knowledgeable and helpful in navigating next steps. Each of them comforted me and guided me as I felt the pressure to breastfeed by the hospitals and my OBGYN when it became physically impossible for me to breastfeed. I appreciated that they never pushed me one way or the other but rather provided me with resources to make my own decision. We primarily see Dr. Frand now and can't imagine picking another practice. We love Dr. Frand because he is very thorough and explains everything down to the basics. We just had our son's 2 year visit and were concerned about speech - though the questionnaires didn't flag for a speech delay, Dr. Frand walked us through where our concerns stemmed from and gave us a referral accordingly. I appreciate that our concerns are never brushed off. The office is very busy, and the doctors tend to book quickly, but Mitch and Jamie are just as knowledgeable, friendly, and detail oriented."
"Unfortunately, I had a a very disappointing, somewhat traumatizing experience here. I’m a clinician myself so I would consider myself very reasonable and patient. In fact, that is why I was very hesitant to write this review. I established care with Dr Kania for my newborn. Each visit I left in tears, feeling inadequate, pressured and disrespected at times. The first visits were entirely focused on my child’s (minimal) weight loss, which is considered more than normal following delivery. Dr Kania attempted to pressure me into over supplementing with donor breast milk for a newborn that was a few days old. The pressure continued when my child hadn’t reached her birth weight by 2 weeks old with recommendations to introduce formula. All the while, we were following recommendations from a certified lactation specialist/nurse practitioner providing reassurance my baby was doing great. There was so much unnecessary focus on weight, scale numbers, and daily intake calculations that vaccine schedule was never discussed and my daughter’s potential abnormal newborn screening results were not shared with me until weeks with Dr Hudson. I decided to discontinue care after a visit that involved Dr Kania answering a call from my LS on my cellphone and walking out the room (without my permission) after she thought it would be appropriate to touch my breast while nursing my baby (again without my permission). In this visit words like “failure to thrive” and “hospitalization” were used to intimidate me. It doesn’t stop there, after discontinuing care myself and my LS were harassed with phone calls. I would not consider this clinic particularly breastfeeding friendly. There was a separate (weight check) visit with PAC Allen, in which we were almost held hostage as she would not “allow” us to leave until my daughter was up to temp. Well, what can we expect from a less than week-old newborn sat in a 64 degree room with just a diaper on for over an hour? I left with my daughter as I was confident her current environment was to blame. The moment we returned home, appropriate rectal temperature. This was incredibly traumatic as a first time mom. I believe they have good intentions for the most part, but terrible execution."
