"I literally just spent A HALF HOUR in line trying to return something-with 4 People in front of me. A Jennifer just stood nearby or was talking to her co-worker in membership. After speaking to a supervisor about what a nightmare it was, I was told SHE WAS SUPPOSED to be working returns. I'd expect this type of service from Walmart but NOT Costco. They have gotten so bad at this store!!!!"
"I mean, who reviews a Costco?? Well, me. I love coming here. Parking is chaotic until you go through it enough times that you learn it's actually not bad and typically doesn't take long to find a spot even though it feels packed all the time."
"I have always appreciated the exceptional service that Costco is known for. Unfortunately, my recent encounter with one of your managers left me with a negative impression. On 11/21/2023, I visited the Costco Havana to return a few purchases. I approached the customer service desk and was waiting for 15-20 minutes. Basel, who claimed himself a manager for 7 years but didn't know to do customer service. He spent so much time chatting in his language with a folk to do 1 return of a shirt. The line was getting longer as he kept chatting which was not professional at all. Then it came my turn, I wanted to return 4 shirts because the price went different. No asking or anything, he just used a higher price to do the return. For a self-claim manager for 7 years, he didn't know why people want to do a return and insisted me to do a return in a higher price. Why would someone do a return in a higher price, let's ask yourself that question, Basel! More disrespectfully as he went, he proceeded to put words in my mouth by saying loudly I didn't respect him and what not. I simply told him, "If you can't do it, just cancel the return". Basel went on with his stupid accusation and didn't want to listen to my explanation, he gave no care how a long line was waiting for his 7-year profession and how loud he was. I was infuriated as he kept putting words in my mouth and did not let me speak, I eventually said louder that if he couldn't do it, stopped it and cancelled it. Basel displayed a lack of patience and courtesy. Instead of addressing my concerns with empathy and understanding, he exhibited dismissive and condescending behavior. As a member who values the customer service standards set by Costco, this experience was highly disheartening. ALL OTHER employees, they are extremely helpful and thoughtful whenever I did any return. I don't care if they are non-manager level, their experience and service always met the expectation and wonderful. I understand that everyone has bad days, but I believe it is crucial for managers, especially in customer-facing roles, to maintain a level of professionalism and courtesy at all times. Especially when you call yourself "I'm a 7-year manager", think 7 times before you speak!"
