"A non-descript place we found while traveling through the Denver area. There is practically no “atmosphere” that says “Cuban”. But the food speaks for itself! We got the “Monday Chicken and vegetables”- with black rice, and yucca fries. All was incredibly flavorful and well-prepared. Also got a pork and a beef empanadas. Bed I’ve had! Only thing stopping us from eating here again is if we are never in the Denver area again!"
"Fri 12/15/23: Still fabulous. Ordered my favorite: the pork sandwich!! It was great! I wanted to order that fabulous soup they have but felt like I was in too big a hurry. So, next time I'll get again. It is fabulous (chicken dice...)!!! Nice folks! Wed 8/23/23: Youngish couple running the place tonight. Food is still wonderful as is service. The atmosphere has definitely been enhanced. Very pleasant, comfortable sitting inside given the heat outside and eating/talking. Hope we didn't stay too long. Will return. Can't wait for cold weather to have the Chicken Rice Cuban Soup again! Thu 3/9/23: Still fabulous! Covered, outdoor seating. Mon 2/6/23: Food still fabulous! More tables. Chicken rice Cuban soup was amazing!! Chunks of chicken, slow cooked broth, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, tomato. Comfort food! Sat 3/26/22: Pork sandwich and flan. Excellent. (See below) Tues 2/12/22: Great pork sandwich and a pastry (see picture; had guava inside). Wed 1/12/22: Great pork empanadas and pork sandwiches. I ordered online about 4:15 today and went and picked the food up. It was ready when I got there and tasted fabulous. It appeared that there were more tables than the last time I was there. Sat 9/25/21: Great food but today I stood in line 20 minutes and line did not move at all. I'll go back on a weekday. Also, there was no air conditioning. 7/26/21: Excellent pork sandwich. Lots of soft, juicy pork. Also full of the onions and juices it was cooked in. Amazing. The black beans were cooked in a similar broth. I must go back and try more."
"Nice small restaurant in a small street mall next to I70 on Youngsfield. Nice food, friendly service. Monday to Saturday (close on Sunday) has everyday specials (3 choices each day) with two sides is good deal. Chicken Friccassee is quit good, Ropa Vieja was a bit dry. Black rice (rice cooked with black bean) and yellow rice are good. Yuca fries also tasty."
"This is a gem of a restaurant and I cannot wait to go back for more of the yummy flavors. I met up with a colleague and we had an excellent meal, so much so that I brought a few things home for later and for my wife including the flan which is dynamite delicious. A lot of Colorado restaurants end up being bland but not this one, the pork chops were phenomenal and it ended up making the car smell pretty strong from the onions and garlic but I’ll take that any day of the week over bland food."
"Wonderful spot! Service by the family that owns it is super friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious. Hands down the best Cuban sandwich in the state. We were lucky enough to get the last serving of oxtails that were amazingly flavorful and fall-off-the-bone tender. (Daily specials will sell out.) Also tried the pork chunks that were crispy on the outside and juicy and tender in the middle. The sides are good enough to stand on their own. Gotta get the sweet plantains (caramelized on the outside), mixed black beans & rice and the yucca with mojo. All this left us wondering, why aren't they more Cuban restaurants in Colorado?"
