"My daughter was referred to Dr. Gotlib a couple of months ago by our regular dentist for a canine tooth that wasn't shifting into place. At our first appointment (at the Space Center Dr office) my daughter explained that she didn't want to have braces but would be fine with aligners. We were told it would be completely covered under our insurance; this was the only reason we agreed. When we went in to pick up the aligners a few months later (this month, at the Austin Bluffs office) we were told she would have to have glue put on her teeth to help make the aligners have a snug fit. This was never discussed with us prior to this appointment and caught me off guard as I have never heard of the aligners requiring glue. After a few hours my daughter removed the aligners and tried to eat but couldn't bite down because of the glue. We went back into the office and asked them to remove the glue. Liz approached us and said she needed to speak to me about some paperwork, then she showed me the cost of the aligners. She explained to me that our insurance would cover 2/3 of the cost on the day that my daughter got the aligners, and they would pay the rest of it the day she got them off. But if anything was to happen with our insurance during that time, we would have to pay the remaining cost. The doctor took us into another room to speak to us privately, he continued to try and talk my daughter into agreeing to the aligners. I mentioned that now there was a cost involved, and the doctor attempted to comfort me by saying, "You would only be paying a couple hundred." Which is not an option for us and was never mentioned until this point. He took my daughter to get the glue removed, and I went back to speak with Liz. She was very rude and condescending. She never showed me an actual document with the cost on it, she wrote the cost down on a blank piece of paper. And wanted me to sign an empty form. Very unprofessional. She also told me I needed to just force my daughter to wear the aligners and that she needed time to adjust to them. And asked me, "Why did you even bother coming in to have this done?" I told her that nobody had told us about the potential of us having to pay anything. She was very upset that I wouldn't sign her document, and she wouldn't let me take it or take a picture of it. I will never sign an empty document. We ended up leaving the office without the aligners and will not be coming back. Sketchy business practices and rude customer service when you don't do what they want."
"Would not recommend this dental business and would tell you to choose to go somewhere else. Every single interaction we’ve had with this place has been abysmal. The first appointment we had for a regular checkup, we went in early and checked in and the receptionist let us know they actually didn’t have one of us down for an appointment but were able to fit us in anyway, which was great, but they still failed to put the appointment into their schedule when we called a couple of weeks earlier and made it seem like they were doing us a favor by fitting us in anyway. My husband was told he had multiple cavities and when he scheduled his first appointment to get his cavities filled, the person he spoke to didn’t even know where his cavities were correctly located. Someone named Maria there then called us to give us the prices on how much his appointments were going to cost us out of pocket aside from what insurance was covering. My husband had his first appointment and then when he arrived for his second appointment they told him that Maria didn’t actually price us for the correct type of fillings and they were going to need to bill us the difference from what we already paid for his first appointment still due and his second appointment was going to be $276.80 instead of around the $50 they originally told us it was going to be. The cost isn’t the issue here, truly. It’s that Maria didn’t do her research correctly on the type of fillings ordered by the dentist and they didn’t tell us about her mistake until after my husband already completed and paid for his first appointment and he was already there in office for his second appointment. As a family that budgets for everything, this was a very unwelcome surprise. It honestly feels very shady and neglectful on their part. Absolutely terrible service, everyone is nice there, but no one does what they’re actually supposed to do it seems. The location could also definitely use a good deep cleaning and renovation of some sort. The bathrooms were very dirty and the lobby was filthy. Each “room” had dirty walls, scratched up pictures on the walls of each “room”, and the chair I sat on was yellowing and had rips in it. We like to give the benefit of the doubt, but I fear we have already given this business too many chances and will definitely be taking our business somewhere else. For a business that has a policy of canceling your appointment if you don’t confirm with them prior, they sure do make a lot of mistakes themselves. If I could give this 0 stars I would, and the only reason I would even consider 1 star is that the dentist that first helped me and my husband was very nice and conversational."
"I have pretty severe dental anxiety combined with really horrible teeth genetics, but Dr. Williams is always kind and straightforward with me. I’ve never felt pushed into unnecessary procedures, and trust that he chooses things that will preserve my teeth for the long run. I’ve always been able to schedule an appointment in a timely manner, and I never wait past my scheduled appointment time. In general I choose local over a chain, but I have been really pleased with my care at Comfort."
"Dr. Hale is a good dentist. I came here for a second opinion on a crown back in 2016. A filling had fallen out and another office stated it couldn't be put back the tooth had to have a crown. Came to comfort dental, Dr Hale said no, he could put the filling back and my tooth didn't need a crown. That filling is still there and doing fine. Recently had a cavity that was too small to see on X-ray but was giving me sensitivity issues. Instead of just dismissing it, he listened to me, found it, fixed it and now I have no sensitivity in that tooth. Dr. Hale does really good work and he listens. I highly recommend him."
"Superb Staff and Treatment from Dr. Kingsford and staff. Gave me the best services and treatment I could have asked for. Very organized and informative every step of the way. Very prompt and Dr. K explained everything in detail and had perfect answers for every question. I appreciate that he takes time to explain what he is doing with care and consideration. Very professional staff with great instructions and information for the best care and results. Just had two lower wisdom teeth extracted and so far so good everything is as they described and expected. Thank you all so much for giving your best care and professionalism in taking care of your patients. Great experience and exceptional service! On my way to a good recovery and just glad I chose this office. Best wishes to you all and Happy Holidays!"
