"Beautiful area. I love the historic aspect - the barn, land, and equipment are all preserved for your enjoyment. Not to mention the house itself!! I did want to mention one thing: Morse Coffin, the original owner of this ranch and early CO pioneer, participated in the infamous and horrible Sand Creek Massacre. In his later years, he denied that any wrongdoing occurred. None of the signage reflects this unfortunate history. Appreciate the beautiful land for what it is, but also appreciate the crimes of those who came before us."
"Lots of wildlife. Far enough away from traffic you can hear the birds. A little piece of history."
"Nice place for long bike rides. Watch out for garden snakes or bull snakes. They are nonvenmous and important for the ecosystem."
"Very nice, not super strenuous walk. Also very good for biking. Looking forward to going into the visitors center someday."
"One of my favorite destinations for road biking on the LOBO bike trail. The LOBO trail has been rebuilt with a new surface and bridges since the flood, superb. A nice quiet, calm, attractive place to stop for a break. Sitting under the shade trees enjoying a snack is an "in the moment" non event. The building is rarely open when i visit, so there is no outdoor rest room."
