"Malashock’s came highly recommended to my husband when it came time to go shopping for an engagement ring. Our experience with the woman in the front of the store has always been pleasant, however it has been quite the opposite when interacting with the woman in the back of the store at the register. My husband is from Omaha, however we are traveling healthcare workers so we are in and out of town a couple of times a year. My ring came in much bigger than the size 4 he had ordered so it was sent in to be resized. We had a destination wedding so I decided to have my rings soldered together months before and not wear my ring from that point on until we got married. When I started wearing my ring I noticed pretty quickly that my rings were crooked. Upon further inspection, my husband’s ring was crooked as well. We were out of state working for several months but at the first opportunity we took them in to have them sent in and corrected…the woman in the back of the store preceded to make rude comments to us about waiting so long and why didn’t we bring them in right away. Her tone was accusatory as if WE had done something to our rings. I explained that we had been out of state in Hawaii working…I also explained that we would have to have someone come get our rings when they were finished, bc we were leaving town again, although after the interaction we had we felt we should just wait and pick them up ourselves. 3 months later when my husband came back to town, he picked up both of our rings. When I flew back he gave me my ring and it was again too big for my finger. Finally we get another opportunity to go in to yet again send my ring in for a third time. At this point I’m extremely frustrated. I speak with the woman in the front of the store and ask her to size my ring bc it is fitting pretty loosely. She tells me it is measuring at a 4 1/4. So I tell her that in the process of fixing my ring maybe it was somehow sized differently…I don’t know much about the process but have no other guesses as to how it became 1/4 bigger so we go to the back register to begin the process of sending my ring in yet again. The woman at the back register begins to argue with me that the ring was not resized. I told her that at this point I’m frustrated, and express that they have had my ring more than I have, and she goes on to blame me because they were waiting on us to pick them up. Very rude, no accountability for the fact that I have had to send in my ring three times. No remorse it’s just all our fault. I will never spend another dime at this establishment. This is the most important piece of jewelry that I own and I’m being made feel like a nuisance for wanting it to fit and also for expecting the quality and craftsmanship to be excellent. I don’t think my expectations are that outrageous but what is outrageous is how we have been treated and how many times I have had to send my ring in to be fixed. I don’t think Mr. Malashock would be pleased to know that his customers are treated this poorly while he is not present, being that he personally helped my husband pick the diamond for my engagement ring."
"I read reviews of others before visiting this store, and everything that has already been mentioned is absolutely true. We came in to find out more about their gold buy back program, and to look at their selection of engagement and wedding rings. Debbie took out all the time that was needed to answer our questions. Instead of pressuring us to sell our jewelry to her, she suggested we try to sell it online so we could get more of our money back. She even took the time to help us craft a sample description for the posting. We were astonished and beyond grateful. We did end up making a purchase, but never felt pressured to do so in return for the services and advice we just received. If I could give more than five stars I would! Malashock's will be our go to for jewelry."
"If you’re looking to get engaged or get married Malashock’s is an awesome place to start! It’s locally owned in Omaha. We went in to shop for an engagement ring and all of the ladies who work there are so amazing! They have helped out our families in the past and remembered every single one of them! We bought our engagement ring and wedding bands from them. They have a beautiful selection and not too many to get overwhelmed by. You can clean your rings for free and get them checked out every time within a few minutes!! Everything was so easy and fun the whole time we were there! They were never pushy about buying anything and gave their honest feedback on each ring! It took me 8 months to decide if I wanted a wedding band and I never felt bad for going in and not buying anything right away! Thank you Malashock’s for being the best in the business!"
"I have never written a review for them, but should have long ago. In 1979-80 we bought my engagement/wedding ring from them. We spent the following years purchasing other rings, earrings, and necklaces. They are always welcoming and so helpful! I have always been to happy with any repairs they have made, and especially happy with the work they did to put my mother-in-laws wedding ring back together. It was absolutely beautiful when it was completed. Our daughter went there too, when she was ready to have her wedding ring created. I highly, highly recommend them!"
"The personal attention and customer service is outstanding. They have such a unique and equisite selection of jewelry. And, whatever they don't have, they can have made. They actually made a custom wedding band for my engagement ring. I would not shop at any other jewelry store."
