"As a law student, I have been documenting broaches in my lease for the past 7 months. I am pursuing legal action as we speak. Four months ago they began doing roof maintenance and as a result SHUT OFF the AC to the entire building. During the winter this was completely fine. However, it is now 90F and they refuse to update us on the situation. We have been given no estimate of when the construction will be done, no estimate of when the AC will be back on, and no estimate of ANY compensation that they are willing to give. We are paying thousands of dollars a month to be treated with nothing but DISRESPECT. I am appalled at how this company is run. I truly believe that 3rd and 4th graders would run this place better than the current management, and even comparing elementary students to Nest would be an insult to their intelligence. Nest is an awful company run by awful, horrible people."
"Nest has been a headache to deal with since the start of my lease. They have shut off the AC for the past 4 months due to roof repairs, yet work is rarely done. As a result, it is now 90F both outside and INSIDE the building. They refuse to tell us when the roof will be fixed. Instead, they simply want us to continue paying 1300$ / month for a 90F room and a patio that is obstructed with construction materials. They have not offered any compensation, fans, or portable AC units. This company takes advantage of every single tenant it encounters with. Avoid at all costs."
"Pathetic excuse for student housing…. You would think they would give students WiFi considering we are in a pandemic w 1/2 online classes, but nope. Extremely rude to tenants…usually just ignore us and try to pretend we don’t exist, but this is kind of ironic sense they sent us a nasty email today about “harassing” them when in reality we are calling for a service that we are paying for. Save yourself the trouble and live anywhere else. You will be way happier. Can’t tell you the amount of tears I’ve already shed since signing with this company, it isn’t really worth the trouble at all."
"I’ve honestly never had a worse experience with any place. These apartments are marketed as student housing but we are going on a month with no WiFi and just received this nasty email saying it will be 30-45 days and they refuse to compensate us in anyway. We are in the middle of a pandemic meaning majority of students are 50% online meaning we have no way to do class. The way they are treating their residence is completely unacceptable. We have only had two other updates in the past month and we have every right to call them with questions about a service WE ARE PAYING FOR. As of now, I see that they are opening luxury apartments downtown and if you have the money for luxury Rise is 100% the better option."
"Over the past five years we’ve had four of our grandchildren away at college. Two of them have been at the University of Iowa, one at Western Illinois and one at the University of Wisconsin. They’ve all lived in student housing apartments. Never and I mean never have any of them had such good service and help as my granddaughter just received from Nest student housing. My granddaughter‘s family was moving into a new home on the same day that she had to move into her new apartment which is managed by Nest. The two girls didn’t know how they were going to accomplish this on their own. Without a moments hesitation various people from Nest management pitched in and helped them move all their furniture from one apartment to the other. They did it gladly and told the girls if they needed anything else not to hesitate to ask. Nest student housing is one of a kind! Other companies that manage student housing just collect money from the kids and do nothing in return. I highly recommend students rent apartments from Nest!"
