"I've lived in Oakland Pointe since 2015. I've enjoyed living here. 2 to 5 minutes away from basically everything you need. Shopping, Grocery, Adventureland Park, Casino, Restaurants, Bike Trails. Even quick access to I-80. Most of the persons living in Altoona are pretty cool peeps :)"
"Oak Crossing is a great place to be. Management is super cool and maintenance is fast and efficient. Can't beat the location and it's only getting more convenient with new development. I would recommend."
"I enjoy living here. Peaceful neighborhood. Nature honking as they fly over my building. Faraway grocery store. Across the street. Post office down the street. I am very happy that I moved from Des Moines to Grimes."
"Very disappointed with my experience at Oak Crossing. The problem that I had was with the lack of understanding of management, they sued us for vacating an cockroach infested apartment. I changed apartments from the 2nd to the 1st floor. The first floor apartment was neighboring another apartment that was infested with roaches. The roaches came into my apartment and was crawling everywhere. I was unable to live there due to the nasty cockroaches. Even though management sprayed every other day...it didn't stop the roaches from entering the cracks in the walls from the neighbor. Because our letter to vacate was two days short of a 7 day notice, we had to pay close to 4,000 for the remainder of our lease. Who wants to live with roaches??? Watch out for the critters at Oak Crossing!"
"we never had any trouble with bedbugs unlike some of the other reviewers: in fact The apartment complex brings in dogs to check for bedbugs least twice a year. (However, the communal washer and dryers may be part of the reason that that has been an issue for others. that was always a drawback; bedbugs or not, the washers and dryers were ALWAYS breaking down, which was a pain. The dryers also had a nasty habit of eating your money and unless you had recorded it at the time, you had no way to prove it.) overall, we really like these apartments! We never had to worry about dog poop in the yard, and the apartment itself was nice and spacious for us. con: The garage that held the trash was right across from our window, and that was an eyesore. Management was not enforcing proper refuse disposal, And often the trash would be strewn over the floor so much that you were unable to open the door and properly dispose of your own trash bags. that was probably our biggest complaint, And it was really more of an inconvenience than anything. Overall we enjoyed our two years living here!"
