"La Favorita means the favorite in Spanish, but this is by far the favorite Mexican grocery in Des Moines. It is small and crowded, and the lighting is poor. The prepared food they have in the warmers does not even look appetizing. La Favorita made me wait an additional 16 minutes from when the order was to be picked up. I asked if they could throw in a container of free rice, and they said they could not do that. There are other Mexican grocery stores that have better food and much better service."
"I got carne asada tacos, rice and beans. Beans were flavorful, creamy and smooth, tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had… And the rice? It was so fluffy, when I blew on it to cool it off rice stated floating away. I don’t know how I’ve never heard of this place, but I’ll be a repeat customer for sure. 10/10"
