"Our 3 year old poodle was groomed by Ava for the first time. She listened to how I wanted him done and he came out looking perfect. My dog was very nervous when he arrived, but Ava was very gentle with him and he was happy and so handsome when I picked him up!"
"I have been taking my cat to see Dr Streeper for a little over a year after she assisted took care of my cat when my vet couldn’t get her in to be seen while I was out of the country. I switched to Blair’s Ferry Pet Hospital at this time. Throughout the last year my kitty started to decline and I took her in multiple times because she was not eating and then another time because she had started to limp terribly. This past Thursday J took my 16 year old cat into Dr. Streeper to have a protruding tumor looked at and to be examined as she had not eaten more than 1/2 can of food and a few treats over a period of 3-4 days. Upon examination, Dr Streeper gave me the following options: “we can aspirate the tumor and see what it is, we can remove the lump, we can put a feeding tube in or we can try a stimulant to encourage eating.” My response to all of this, was “then what and I wouldn’t even allow a feeding tube to be placed in myself, let alone a 16 year old cat.” I was not sure what we were trying to accomplish and frankly I was appalled that a feeding tube was even suggested…what about QUALITY OF LIFE!!! The next day, I made arrangements to take my kitty to another Vet and upon examination on Monday, yesterday…my cat was deemed to be very sick with multiple tumors (that Dr. Streeper never even mentioned) and this vet and I discussed quality of life extensively with potential outcomes. My kitty and best friend of 16 years was put down yesterday 2/26 so she would no longer have to starve, puke up anything and everything she ate (if anything) and is no longer suffering in pain that was overlooked because she was purring and seemed to be alert when at the vet. P.S. your animals may become more alert at the vet due to the stress and animals may still purr even if they are dying! I am absolutely disgusted at the inability to recognize when an owner is attempting to advocate and searching for guidance when having to make these kinds of decisions. Nobody wants to put their furry family members down, but more importantly, nobody wants to see them suffer."
"Our last experience was with the groomer.this was Kaseys first over all hair cut . He's 7 months old and a busy little cocker spaniel. She did an excellent job on his hair . Very friendly, caring staff . Thank you ."
"I’ve taken all of my pets to Blair’s ferry pet hospital for the past 4 years. My last couple of experiences with Doctor Streeper were traumatizing for my dog and I. I took my 4 year old black lab mix here for a nail trim and rabies vaccination a couple months ago. Let me start by saying that my dog, Layla, is probably not the best behaved when it comes to the vet. She has severe anxiety. They started by putting a muzzle on her. She’s NEVER showed any aggression toward any human and has never bit anyone and she’s been seen by these people for FOUR years. She is 60 pounds. Would you put a 60 pound dog on the examination table? I told them multiple times NOT to put her on the table. She freaks out on the table and flails everywhere almost falling off. If she fell off, she would really hurt herself. A good vet would get down on the floor to accommodate to Layla’s needs to make her feel more comfortable. When Layla was flailing on the table, doctor Streeper proceeded to yell at Layla in a stern manner. Saying, “NO Layla” (like that was going to make the situation better) Do NOT take your dog here if you have a hyper/anxious dog."
"Excellent and highly knowledgeable staff! Reasonable prices. They provide the most compassionate care. Dr. Streeper is the most patient and attentive vet I've ever worked with. She takes the time to answer all of my questions and explains everything in a way that is easy to understand. I will never take my pets anywhere else."
