"Such a great date night idea! If you and your partner are looking for something fun to do during the winter, look no further! We did the Tuscan Steak night with Amjada and he was amazing! This class was very beginner friendly but also engaging for people that already knew a lot about cooking. You will learn tips on how to properly prepare the food as well as ways to make your food taste perfect! We enjoyed making homemade pasta as we had never done it before. The photos we added here are gelato, steak with arugula salad and homemade pasta. 10/10 recommend!"
"My boyfriend and I loved the cooking class!! Our chef Karen was amazing and let us be very hands on and let separate groups season their spice level to their liking! We had a lot of fun and would recommend to everyone."
"My partner and I had an excellent experience at this store in our search for a butter tray. The two employees on staff, Becky and Taylor, went above and beyond in helping us, up to the point where they researched the dimensions of a Kerrigold butter package to make sure we bought the right size dish! They also helped us find a nice non-stick pan. Would highly recommend this store!"
"This was a really fun cooking class. The chef was very entertaining and we learned a lot of new cooking tips. The others in our class were friendly and kept the class fun too. The food was very good as well. There was a short break midway through the class and we had a discount we could use to shop in the store. The only downside to the class was we split some of the dishes to cook by smaller group so they could be finished by the end of class. Since we did this, we did not have much visibility or prepare each dish. I was looking forward to learning how to cook a steak (I’ve always been bad at this), but another group did this, so I actually did not cook or learn how to cook one."
"I was SO excited to finally take a cooking “class” at Sur La Table. I’ve been wanting to it forever! My boyfriend surprised me and booked us a class. I was so disappointed and underwhelmed with the entire experience. First off, I thought when taking a “cooking” class we would be learning, doing things on our own, have a place to sit while eating, be taught by an actual chef and get a full portioned meal since we paid $100 per person. This was not the case at all. There was only one young woman leading the class and she was not a chef by any means. She was very nice but I was expecting someone with actual cooking experience. When we arrived they had 3 separate stations for 14 of us. One for the salad, one for the herb butter and another for the risotto. My boyfriend and I had the salad station. The only thing we got to do was mix together a few pre-measured ingredients and cut up one shallot. The butter station had to cut up a few herbs, mix the butter and then that was it. The risotto station also already had the broth pre-made so all they had to do was stir it. Each station took about 5-10 minutes to do. The rest of the time the young lady leading the class cooked the six New York strips that were supposed to feed all 14 of us. We each got only 3 little slivers of steak, and a scoop or two of risotto. For $200 I expected way more. You also have to stand and eat. The salad was good but it’s hard to mess a salad up. The banana foster dessert was good as well but the main course fell short. We will not be back."
