"End of an era, this locations is on its last leg, tried to go in and get some strings thinking they were open after I got off work, they always been open 8 till 5 only to walk up to the store closed, I called there big store Des Moines to ask why they have been closing early which the big store was unaware of this even happening, so then I try going into this location the following week, and they changed their hours to 8 to 330, I feel they only did this hour change because I complained about it, these stores wonder why people stop coming, it’s because it’s a joke. This is why online stores are taking over"
"I always have some weird things I need fixed on my saxophone, and the great repair guy that's there is always happy to help"
"Called about getting a clarinet mouth piece. They had what I needed in stock and were great to work with. Very impressed with the amount of stock they had for a small town shop. In the past I have worked with the Des Moines store to repad the clarinet. The Creston store was just as good. Best part was not having to drive to Des Moines."
"I bought a percussion combo kit on 8/30. It was supposed to be delivered to my child's school on 9/6. It was not. Because of the holiday, I thought, "No big deal. It'll be delivered the next day." It was not delivered the next day. When I contacted my web seller I was told they only deliver to my child's school on Tuesdays. Ok. There is still time. No worries. When 9/13 came and went and still no instrument, I started to worry a little bit. My child is out of school early enough that maybe it would be delivered after she came home. If it was there on Wednesday when she went to class, all would be well. It was not there. I called my web seller and asked what was going on with my kid's instrument. I was transferred to someone that told me my kid's instrument was "misplaced" and rented to another family. I was prepared to take the day off and drive to wherever because I was done waiting for delivery, but to make matters worse, they didn't have any instruments in stock. They didn't even bother to call me and let me know so that I had enough time to make other arrangements. They decided to be cowards and wait until I called. I get that it is the beginning of the school year and everyone is scrambling to get instruments, but I paid multiple hundreds of dollars upfront to not have to worry about any of this and they rented my kid's instrument to someone else. I'm hoping this was an isolated anomaly but I'm guessing it wasn't and my family will never buy from them again and I cannot recommend them to anyone. It was not a pleasure doing business with you."
"Fantastic staff! Found our family's banjo in the basement and brought it in for a cleaning and new strings. Dan knew it meant a lot to me and contacted me the very next day to let me know it was ready for pick up. Now we have it hanging on the wall in our home. Thank you Dan!"
