"Nice stop of family selections, and good service. Al had the hot turkey and gravy sandwich, I had the honey chicken salad. Both were good, fresh, and fairly quick service."
"One of my favorites for breakfast for sure. But I about fell over with the newer prices. Very high. Pie slices small. Fruit cup... cut up cantelope only Over 5 dollars. I truly understand inflation and people still go , it's a good place. But many have stopped going too...also at many places due to the increase of eating out. And cost of having a plate of food muc h smaller in size now too . That's all.."
"Just like sit-down restaurants that I remember from the 60s. Casual, comfortable atmosphere. Food servings are abundant, service is friendly and efficient. They have these delicious, gigantic house made dinner rolls that are served with meals. Daily specials are desirable. On Monday and Wednesday, they give you a free piece of pie (your choice) when you buy an entree and beverage. We usually take our pie home because we're too full from the entree!The prices are good and we eat here often. We look forward to the jumbo shrimp dinner which is served once a month."
"We went there for something different. We all had breakfast, and it was excellent. My chicken fried steak, hashbrowns, eggs, and pancake were good. Lots of light and fairly quiet. You could talk and not have to yell at one another. We will be back."
"This was probably the best omelet I've ever had. I had the All Meat omelet, and it was fantastic! Along with the omelet, I had fruit (cantaloupe) and a pancake with peanutbutter. It was a fantastic breakfast and outstanding service. If I ever get back to Iowa City, I will definitely come back to Midtown Family Restaurant."
