"Nice clean place. Service was great. Guacamole, enchiladas, rice, beans and tacos were all very good."
"We were recommended to buy the masa for tamales here. So we decided to try them out. On monday in the evening before they closed, I went in and asked for 10 lbs of prepared masa for tamales and also bought a bag of corn husks. On Tuesday evening we decided to make the Tamales. We noticed that the masa was not spreadable. It felt more like masa to make tortillas. My wife whipped the masa in the mixer and added some red sauce to make it spreadable. We didn't think to taste it because normally the masa for Tamales has the right amount of salt. So after we cooked the Tamales and tried them. The Tamales are densed and have no flavor what so ever. My red sauce, my pork meat, was wasted because the Tamales do not taste good. I called and spoke to the manager in charge. I explained what happened and she asked for my number because she was going to speak to the cashier that took my order and get back to me. I never got a call back. So I decided to call her back in the afternoon to get an update. Her response was as she spoke to the cashier and that the cashier said I ordered masa for tortillas and not for Tamales. ( If that was the case, then why did I buy a bag of corn husks) She then said unfortunately, they couldn't help me because we should have brought the masa back to them on that same day. 1. They were closing . 2. We didn't notice it until the next day on Tuesday evening. So I decided to stop by in person and ask for the contact number of the owner. The lady that I spoke to was dark complected and muscular built. Very rudely she said she is not authorized to give that number out. I asked her if she could give me the name of the cashier. She replied very rudely and said that she was not going to give me that information either and walked away. I wonder if the owners are even aware of these types of incidents that happen in their restaurant. Are they aware of how their staff treat their customers. So this is my review and hopefully maybe the owner will be made aware of what happened. Unfortunately, we will not be going back and giving our business to them."
"I have been going to Sam's for years and have always found the staff to be kind and friendly. Since they opened the sit down area we always dine in. The last few times the darker muscular built young lady working the register was very rude. So rude it makes me want to take my business elsewhere. She had trouble getting my order right and when I asked for hot sauce she was giving me all green and I asked for more red instead of green. She snatched it out of the bag and threw red ones in. I asked for a couple extra red ones and she rudely walked away. The other issue I have is your prices are no longer displayed. Due to prices going up I would like to see what I am paying before ordering and having to look at the register. I saw another review about the same young lady being rude a couple of weeks ago. Apparently you either did not speak to her or she just does not care that she is causing you to lose future business. For now I will take my business elsewhere."
"The cashier that is darker skinned is very rude. We eat here often but in the afternoons when she’s there it is always an unpleasant interaction. Today I called to place an order for pickup and she answered and when I started to order she acted like she couldn’t hear me and hung up on me. I called back 5 more times to try to place the order and the phone was not answered."
"I would consider this a hole in the wall. This is also where I go to get my holiday tamales which are always very good, best in town. They have much more than just tamales. They have and enchiladas, Chile pork, different salsas, fresh fried tortilla chips, fresh tortillas, dough to make tortillas or tamales, etc etc. Menu and prices have changed . Menu board is not very accurate. Stop in and try it."
