Bubba

"This was our second time at Bubba. The first time was fine, but this second time really impressed us. The cheese board is truly don’t-miss - thin biscuits, pimento cheese, pickled veg, bacon, and Benedictine (a cucumber spread from Kentucky!). And the vegetarian/vegan option was amazing - the Chile Relleno, with a colorful succotash medley and bright and savory tomato sauce. My husband enjoyed the blackened catfish and the red beans and rice very much. Also, you can’t go wrong with the gracious Mercedes as your server on the second floor - we had her both times and she is so thoughtful and attentive! One critique: I wish they didn’t used baby carrots for the pickle on the cheese board - they have a strange aftertaste compared to “real” carrots."

"The menu had creative options for a vegetarian. The service was quick and professional. The food presentation was inviting with the entree being well seasoned. The value of the meal was reasonable. The only drawback is downtown parking."

"Had the most amazing time at Bubba and have been here once before but this visit warranted a review. Our server Mercedes went ABOVE AND BEYOND during our meal. My family and I had the fried chicken (dark meat), Mac & cheese, collard greens, green beans, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, blackened catfish and it was absolutely divine. The drinks are SO GOOD but I have to say Mercedes gets a second shout out because she was GIVING lessons on customer service. She left NO CRUMBS (both figuratively and literally). Thank you for the most wonderful time!"

"Wonderful! Every dish we had was fabulous. We started with amazing hush puppies, so crunchy on the outside soft and tasty on the inside. Everything from the Cajun noodles, Jambalaya, Crispy Succatash to the pecan pie and hummingbird cake was fantastic!"

"I am from the South Carolina, so I had high expectations. This place did not disappoint. The shrimp and grits were a whole party in my mouth. The fried green tomatoes took me back to my childhood. The BBQ meatloaf was insane! Service was spectacular. Reasonably priced. Atmosphere was dope! 10/10 I will be taking my friends and family here when they come visit now that I live in Iowa."
