"Such a fun & unique experience. The postal employee was so kind and patient."
"You have to provide your own coconut. Since covid they no longer provide them but they will provide you with markers so you can color/draw on it there. I bought markers at the drug store in Kaunakakai & decorated mine before taking to the post office. The lighter the coconut the better since postage is charged by weight. It's something unique and different to send to someone."
"I mean why wouldn’t you? Amazing service. Thank you! And surprise your loved ones with coconut! They might have extras if not find one yourself and ship it!"
"I visited in Feb 2022 & there were a few coconuts painted by the high schoolers for sale. You can also purchase coconut art post-a-nuts that support the high school at Moloka'i Furniture. They also have dry coconuts there AND art kits so you can decorate one yourself before sending. Kids absolutely love getting these in the mail. Then come here (or tp other Moloka'i post offices) to send them out. It is a terrifically good gift to send home. Truly unique. Bring a few sturdy pens as well as permanent markers - sometimes you almost have to carve in the postal code or address, depending on the coconut. Things to know: * It cost $45 to send to Canada, more to Europe. * Any address outside of US needs a US customs form, which will take up 1 while side of your roughlt three-sided coconut. So leave some space. * you must put a US address on the customs form, so bring the address of the place you are staying if you arent a US resident. * only 1 person, masked, inside the office. the rest of your party can work outside on the grass to address or draw on coconuts."
"Super nice employees. However, I wish I would have known before going that they no longer supply coconuts due to COVID. You also need to bring your own painting supplies- they have never offered that service. I've read many blogs on 5he Post-A-Nut and the fact that the post office doesn't have paints/markers was never mentioned so I thought I'd let people know."
