"Would prefer to post a negative star rating but sadly not an option. Booked 2 excursions with them in December for a March visit and they were a no show for both. Didn't respond to calls or texts. Filed credit card disputes and waiting for resolution. Did book a trip with Kona Boys and they were great. Avoid Aloha."
"We had a manta ray snorkel scheduled for Friday, December 29th and as we were driving to the excursion, we received a text saying they needed to reschedule our tour for another night due to dangerous ocean conditions. Please look at the schedule and get back to them to go over options. We did a whale watch the next morning and I mentioned this to the crew and they did confirm the night before was not good conditions. I responded to them for a reschedule and they never responded. I called and they never answered. I called a week later. Please note, when you book, you pay for the excursion upfront, so I had paid for this back in October 2023. I waited a couple weeks to see if I received a refund on my credit card statement. Finally, I contacted my credit card company to file a complaint with them to receive my money back. My friend had done the Captain Cook snorkel with them prior and said it was one of their family favorite excursions in Hawaii, so I'm disappointed we can't say the same thing about our Manta tour. Never did get to see the Mantas."
"WARNING: We booked a morning kayak tour for 3 and got STOOD UP, as many others have similarly experienced. The front door was unlocked but no one was there. Aloha Kayak didn’t respond to calls or text messages as we waited on the porch of the business. We were fortunately able to find kayaks available for rent from another business, but wasted our time and stressed out over Aloha Kayak. We filed a chargeback with the credit card company. And on top of it all, there was a poor dog chained in the backyard. It didn’t look healthy, was not very responsive, and its food and water bowls were overturned. Whatever the reasons are, ALOHA KAYAK NEEDS TO GET ITS ACT TOGETHER!"
"Support a locally owned and operated company and give their kayak and snorkel tour a try. We had a great time on their morning tour. A good paddle across to the monument, some spinner dolphins and a long time in the water checking out tons of colorful fish. The snorkeling was outstanding and Travis made sure our group was comfortable and safe. With just 4 of us it was like a private tour. It was an excellent experience."
"We had a great experience on the morning tour to the Captain Cook monument today. Our guides, Rabbit and Andrew, were friendly, professional, attentive and just nice to spend the morning with. Rabbit did a good job of explaining the history of the area and also letting us know what we would be doing throughout the trip. That, along with their hard work to keep us safe and enjoying the trip, made it very relaxing and fun. The water of Kealakekua Bay is clear and there are so many varieties of fish along the reefs. At this time fewer people were on the other boats, so there was adequate space for all the snorkelers (earlier is better). We even had a school of spinner dolphins swim right by us on the way to the monument. The kayaking took some exertion, but it was well worth it! We would definitely recommend going with Aloha Kayak Co. Thanks, Rabbit and Andrew!"
