"Our family spent 2 weeks bopping throughout Kauai, it was a phenomenal vacation and we will definitely return. However, the reason for the 1 star though is directly speaking to the Bureau's failure to address the absolutely disgusting and rancid condition of every single public restroom at beaches we visited. I realize there is tremendous demand, however the Visitors Bureau has apparently done little to nothing about having any restroom renovated in 30+ years. My family visited no less than ten public beaches and not one was remotely decent; several had feces on the walls; ripped off stall doors, etc.. Traveling with young kids there was concern with safety, sanitization, etc. I'm from a rural state that doesn't collect any sales tax but we have impeccable rest area bathrooms along I-90 for our traveling guest. I hope that the Visitors Bureau puts better focus on improving these facilities at some of their most used beaches around the island in the future, it will be very appreciated by many guest to Kauai."
