Reviews
"Car not clean inside and appeared poorly maintained. Also had dangerous cheap floor mats which slid dangerously between gas and brake pedals, we threw it in the trunk to avoid an accident. The interior ceiling fabric looked as if someone had a drink explode inside or more like explosive diarrhea. Customer service was great though but the location needs to try and spend a few more minutes cleaning."
"The dirtiest rental car i ever had .Back trunk and inside are Not Clean.Very disappointed about how they handled this for renting . My past experience on Avis always good not sure this location has issues"
"If zero stars were possible, that would be what I would leave as a review of my experience. First, the front tires were bald and down at or below the wear bars; completely unacceptable for customer safety. Second, the light coloured interior was disgustingly dirty on the seating surfaces and touch points. Easily handled with basic cleaners and gentle scrubbing. I cleaned a few spots to see if it was permanent staining but it was just a lazy rental company. Third, upon pickup the car had two cockroaches in the cup holders. Absolutely unacceptable and there is no valid excuse for this. I picked the vehicle up at the end of the night so there was no real opportunity to ask for a different van. Truly disappointing. EDIT: I followed up as requested by Avis and received nothing more than a canned response on ‘we are sorry about your experience, we try to do a good job, and we will use the feedback to do better in the future’ which is pointless. Avis - do better."
"I think the staff was doing the best they could, but there just seemed to be more customers than the location was equipped to handle. Huge line. It was almost 2 hours for us to pick up our rental car. Our flight landed at 5:30pm on a Thursday. Maybe it would have been better earlier in the day? I don’t want to complain too much because as a tourist coming to a Hawaiian island, I don’t want to act entitled. But it was a much much longer wait to get a rental car than I’ve had at any other Avis location in the country."
"Despite being an Avis Preferred customer for nearly 25 years, this has been my most disappointing experience with the rental company. Despite my preferred status, I had to wait in line for a car. Even after being assigned one, the promised delivery to the front of the rental office didn't happen. After nearly 30 minutes, I discovered the car mysteriously disappeared. Another prolonged wait ensued before I finally received my car, making the total wait time over an hour. The rental office's dim lighting made it nearly impossible to inspect the car thoroughly. I had to drive it under a streetlight and use my phone's flashlight to identify numerous scratches and dents. When I brought this to their attention, they requested photos of the issues. It's disheartening that customers bear the responsibility of inspecting the car, and I was surprised that a vehicle with such damage was still in service. After driving the car for a while, I observed that the ride became less smooth once I exceeded 40 miles per hour, as if the wheel was off balance. I returned to the rental office to exchange the car. Shortly after the switch, I noticed an unusual noise from the back of the car. Not wanting to invest more time and uncertain about the availability of a better car, I decided to keep the current one for the remainder of the rental period. On a positive note, the employees there are generally easy to work with. Especially the shuttle drivers, they helped every customer with loading and unloading their luggages."
