Reviews
"Place needs no description. Last of the lookouts for me since I did not have a 4x4 to go to the last one."
"Was hesitant about taking this hike after reading reviews. However, we did with 7 years old son and he was just fine at the end. I feel like I was tired))). Hiking shoes are very recommended and as much water as you can carry with you. The first mile gives you the best view. We didn't get lucky and it was foggy/cloudy at the end. However, it was more about taking challenge and we did it, so we are excited about hiking this trail. Did it in mid August, wasn't muddy at all."
"One of the most beautiful lookout spots, and a great way to end the Pihea to Alakai Swamp trail. My wife and and I find this trail to the lookout in just under 6 hours (which included a lot of sight seeing time). The trail was 8.7 miles out and back with technical and muddy trail, so be prepared. If you are willing to do the home, the scenary will not disappoint! A must do for hikers in Kauai!"
"Amazing views! Well worth the effort. I suggest to do half of the Pihea trail starting at Pu’u O Kila Lookout and join the Alakai Swamp trail up to Kilohana lookout. A hidden gem among Kauai trails and one of my best! Bear in mind that you will be hiking in one of the wettest places on earth. It can be very muddy and foggy."
