"Quick a muddy hike to get there, not really worth it for the view, but I enjoyed the slip and slide"
"Hike to Pu’u O Kila Lookout is very serene, it starts very easy, one can think they can do flip flops, but after .5 mile mark, it adds huge complexity, and if it's raining or rained very recently the hike can be very very difficult. Lesson learned, never underestimate hike in Hawaii! Do stop by along the trail, the view of Nā Pali Valley is mesmerizing! The Azul Water and iron oxide filled basaltic soil adds rich golden color. Once you hit fence means you are near the end of the trail. Take a moment, hydrate and turn back safely!"
"All these sunny photos.... =) Not much sun when we went, rained most of the time, but we were there for the adventure. It was warm enough that being soaked wasn't bad. Trail was a good mix of almost flat, moderate, steep, washed out "stairs," solid, and squishy surfaces. The views would be amazing but we didn't get to see most of them, until our way back the clouds broke for a while, it was so nice!"
"Totally worth the muddy trail to get here! Hahhahaha loved it. Son and I hiked all over. We met all skill levels on this trail. It had dried a bit when we went on it the second time, we still left covered in mud. Great fun! Views are epic if the clouds cooperate! When the clouds roll in, you will see nothing ! LOL (see posted photos) still worth the hike!"
"This is a very nice trail but it can be very muddy and slippery so you better have good shoes and be in a good physical condition to be able to make it. It rains almost every day, chances are that you will not be able to make it if you are wearing flip-flops or if you are old or overweight. The view of the valley is stunning and it changes every minute. Safety first!"
