About the Hā'ena State Park
Hā'ena State Park, located in Kapaʻa, Hawaii, United States, is a popular tourist attraction known for its stunning views of the Nāpali Coast State Wilderness Park and restored lo'i kalo (taro fields). Visitors can enjoy activities such as shore fishing and swimming at Ke'e Beach, as well as hiking the world-famous Kalalau Trail and Hanakāpīʻai Falls trail. The park was closed from April 2018 to June 2019 due to severe flooding, but has since reopened with new park management strategies in place. Visitors, especially non-Hawaii residents, are required to make advanced reservations and pay entry fees to access the park. The park management has worked closely with the community to ensure the protection of resources and provide a high-quality visitor experience. With daily visitor limits and reservation requirements, Hā'ena State Park aims to preserve its cultural and biological significance while welcoming back visitors in a sustainable manner.

Reviews of Hā'ena State Park
"Magnificent! Amazing scenery with beautiful beach, blue water, plenty of waves and the mountain. Give a try to Kapalua trail only if you are fit. It is relentlessly steep, requires constant stepping. There are no markers to show the 0.25 a d 0.5 mile lookouts. You will be rewarded with great views and sense of achievement."
"Great Views. Easy walking trail. Nice beach area, just don’t walk on the walks because they are slippery!! The wet cave is super cool to walk down to too."
"First time i was able to get in. It's definitely worth going. The hiking trail is awesome. Not easy. Takes a little less than 30 minutes to get some great views. Beach is great as well."
"Absolutely stunning views, this park is a gem! Reservations are a must. We reserved the entire day and stayed for sunset at Ke'e Beach, after spending the day on the Hanakapi'Ai Trail and the associated waterfall trail. There are washrooms available by the trail head, as well as showers to wash the salt off and a water fountain. No dogs allowed in the park, unless they are designated service dogs. A must while in Kauai!"
