"Green Sands Tour 2.26.24 Jackie is a stellar instructor, very effectively providing the appropriate wisdom/information to keep her horses and riders safe and comfortable. Her attentive, friendly, and welcoming presence was greatly appreciated during the ride, and her diverse selection of beautiful, intelligent, strong, and sweet horses was very pleasing. There was no shortage of dramatic, goosebump-inducing scenery along the tour. It was especially breathtaking when the elegant but powerful humpback whales would breach every 2 minutes at least. I highly recommend this lovely tour, you will not be disappointed!!"
"Only book with Horseback 2 the Sea once you have truly embraced the Aloha spirit and understand Hawaii time (a.k.a Jackie time) is different from (insert your home state here) time. Booked a two hour and twenty minute ride for myself and MIL via the Horseback 2 the Sea website online booking system for a 1:15pm ride time on 12/29/2023. Added comments in the booking system for our riding skill, height, weight, and requested for our guide to be Jackie. A $50 each deposit was automatically taken for our reservation. I followed up my online booking with a text to Jackie confirming our ride time, date, and rider details. I received a text back from Jackie at 7:07am the morning of our ride confirming our 1:15pm ride and meet up location which was an hour and forty minute drive from where we were staying. While we were in route, received a call from Jackie at 11:56am. She informed me that she just ended a 5 hour ride and that she was still an hour and a half away from our meeting point and once she got to our meeting point the horses would need an additional hour to rest. So that 5 hr ride had to have started at 7am in order to end at 12pm! So she would have known prior to texting me at 7:07am that morning she wouldn’t make our ride time. When I informed her that was too late of a start time for us and that we couldn’t accommodate her new start time, Jackie started to interject her 24 hour cancellation policy. I politely responded that I was not canceling, I simply wasn’t able to accommodate her last minute change in start time. According to the email confirmation the cancellation policy is “No shows lose their deposit, but if it is weather, closed roads, or anything else, your deposit is refunded to you.” I would say this situation falls under “something else.” Instead of arguing with Jackie that she had known when she texted me at 7:07am she wouldn’t make our 1:15pm reserved time, I decided to channel my inner Aloha spirit and suggest a new day and time and Jackie was happy to accommodate my request. Jackie and I agreed on a first ride out at 11am on 1/2/2024. During the call I also asked if I could add my husband to our ride and Jackie said not a problem as long as I confirmed with her at least the day before our ride. After I hung up, I immediately sent Jackie a text message confirming our new date and time and that I would confirm with her adding my husband to our ride by the next day. The next morning I texted Jackie confirming that my husband would be joining us and also included his riding level and details. I also let her know we would be paying cash for his ride and would settle up his payment at our new ride time/date. In my text I asked her to please respond back by confirming the new date/time and that we were now a party of three riders. Jackie responded back that same morning with confirmation for our now party of 3 and 1/2 @ 11am ride. On 1/2 at 9:38am again while in route to our meet up spot, received a call from Jackie and it was as if we were on date 2 of 50 first dates! She said she lost her phone and my contact info and couldn’t remember exactly our past conversations and how many people were in our party. Once I recapped our interactions and confirmations she then explained that she was short a horse but we were in luck because she would just walk beside us for the first 15 minutes and since I was an experienced rider I could lead the ride and it would be ok because her horses were sound and really good with new people. I told Jackie NO! I may be an experienced rider but I don’t know her horses, her horses don’t know us, and I don’t know the trail or the terrain. She then said she would just need to go pick up her other horse up but would need to move our ride time out to 12:30pm. About 25 minutes later Jackie called back and said her horse was injured and wound be canceling and giving me the $100 deposit refund. Although she went over the refund with us and confirmed my credit card number, it is now January 23rd and my refund has yet to be received. Aloha!"
"I took my friend who was struggling with depression on a sunset ride at southpoint with Jackie(horseback 2 the Sea). It was an amazing and unforgettable experience. Jackie was very attentive to my friend who was a less experienced rider. The horses were great. Beautiful and well behaved. The coastline trail was absolutely the best place for a trail ride. By the end of the ride my friend who had not smiled for weeks was laughing and smiling brightly . I will definitely take family/friends in the future. I encourage anyone who is adventurous to ride Horseback 2 the Sea"
"The ride was AMAZING! We did the sunset ride on the ocean on south point, went to the green sand beach! She was very knowledgeable on teaching my husband how to ride (I been riding for over 20 years) the horses are very well mannered! It was very beautiful ride! I am very happy and both left with huge smiles! Thank you for clearing my bucket list and even on a palomino (which is also my dream horse!) thank you thank you thank you!"
