"I was debating posting this review, I pulled my son from the business a few months ago but heard some pretty crazy things going on and felt I needed to share my experience to help others made an educated decision before signing up for lessons. Took my son here a while and at first, felt welcomed and learned a good bit then when they moved locations and my son stopped learning and overall wasn't riding. When I found out I was paying $100 for my kid to brush a horse and ride a pony that wasn't fit to be rode, I wasn't happy. I was paying for my kid to learn horse stuff, not clean up her mess during their move. I had raised my concerns was met with no riding and extreme narcissism. Don't bother unless you're trying to do only horse care stuff and walking on the horse. From personal experience that I have witnessed while attending my sons lesson, seems to be out for money and doesn't care about the safety and integrity of the children, horses or employees. And in reply to the owners response, You didnt make us quit, we stopped coming, theres no need for a refund as well as I think it's strange how you offer us a refund now but not when I complained I was paying $100 a lesson for my child to clean horse gear upon your move to the new location. I rather stay anonymous, as the island is small and from my interactions with you, you talk badly and down on everyone. A toxic setting like that is not ideal for children to be exposed to. Edit, I recently heard that she doesn't pay her employees, as well as making people sign papers stating they waive their breaks. Utterly ridiculous and disappointing that this business depends upon its students to do its work."
"I HIGHLY recommend Aloha Riding Lessons. Kim, and the other barn staff are absolutely lovely to book in with and communicate with. I had a great lesson at an amazing location and learned lots. Wish I didn’t have to leave! A great barn to take a lesson on vacation or to stay in a program:)"
"As a mom whose son takes riding lessons at Aloha Riding Lessons, I can't express how pleased I am with this stable. The staff's dedication to safety and expertise in handling horses has put my mind at ease. My son's confidence and love for riding have grown immensely since he started here. The horses are gentle, and the scenic view in Koko Crater offer a perfect backdrop for learning and enjoying nature. The instructors are patient and skilled, making the lessons both educational and fun. I highly recommend Aloha Riding to parents looking for a fantastic riding experience for their children. It's been a wonderful journey for my son, and I'm grateful for the positive impact it has had on him."
"We had a wonderful time! The stables were so clean, the horses and ponies looked so happy and well cared for… Tiana was an absolute star! She was incredible with my two girls (my 5 year old must’ve asked 100 questions…). She spoke and worked methodically, thoroughly and patiently. The whole experience was excellent! Surely, it will be a memory to last for my girls, myself and as well as my mother!"
"I have been riding with Kim for over a year as an adult student with very rusty experience. Kim and her staff throughout my time with them have been nothing but patient, informative, and accommodating. I have learned substantially not only riding itself but also on the ground. Ive been taught how to care for a horse, tend to wounds, and understand potential ailments. Guidance while riding has included understanding how your horse can relate to you, how your body language and mood directly affects your ride. In my experience, the environment at Aloha Riding is one of great care to both for students and animal. The lessons are always about making sure the student and horse are safe. Kim has been accommodating with my schedule both in if needing to change time or reschedule based on what she has available. I would recommend Kim and Aloha Riding if you are serious about learning the ins and out of not only riding but the ins and outs of horse ownership."
