"Amazing beach, very few people and lots of fish to see over in the bay to the left. The cave was cool to see too. Beautiful water with inland mountains as a backdrop. Beautiful!"
"Wow, loved the hike along this beach, the sand is soft, large rocks add to the character of the beach, the wind stirs up sea giving it a wild look. Kitesurfers are working the wind, it's amazing how they can get 20-30' jumps into the air, very entertaining. Access to the beach is a little more difficult so you don't have lots of people packing stuff, mostly friendly people walking."
"Our family really enjoyed this beach. Walking along the beach past dangerous rollers and reef surf got us to a beach protected by an outer reef near a point. There are trees to hang out under and smooth sand, safe ocean access with fun waves to play in. Clearly many swim there, as lifesaving float belts are tied to a post there, but we shared the whole area with only 4 other people on a Friday. Current access is driving down dirt road past the Hyatt and CJM stable."
"This beach is adorable. There is a long dirt road to the parking area, but it is worth it. Snorkeling is great at the beach located to the left around the bend. Be sure to keep ur distance from any monk seals here- they are resting. Also, the trees provided some great shade and the shallow pools along the beach were a great way to see fish as well."
"So, here's the thing. Gillins beach is named after Elbert Gillin, who was gifted land by the Hawaiian government and built a little beach house on it in the 1920s. It's still owned by the descendants of the Gillin family, and you can rent it. It's not even that expensive, it just doesn't have AC and is 15 mins from anything in town. In Hawaii though, the beaches are public access. So you're walking in front of (or behind) this house that could be being rented by people hoping to get away. But not to let that deter you, just something to be mindful of. It's not hard to avoid the house area. It's an amazing little beach area tucked away from the main coast. I won't say secluded because it's not, you have people walking on the beach in front of you all the time. But it is gorgeous, and overall more quiet than most other places. Tons of fishing spots all up and down the beach, as well as surfing and wind surfing opportunities everywhere. The sea can get a little rough in areas though so be careful"
