"LV Ticket Attorney I got pulled over for speeding on the I-15 South, and an acquaintance referred to the law offices of Mark Coburn, also known as the Las Vegas ticket attorney. This turned out to be a mistake. If I had pleaded no contest and done traffic school, I would have paid $506 in fines with no points on my driver license. But I decided to give them a call and hear what they could do. The lady on the phone (and their website!) said they would get my citation reduced to parking tickets and I would not have to do traffic school. The attorney’s fee was $350, which I found to be high, but not having to do traffic school seemed worth it. Upon payment they would send me confirmation of representation, and file for an extension as the court date was set for the next week. But by the next Monday I had not received any confirmation, the extension still hadn’t been filed, and they did not return my calls. I called the court myself and the clerk there gave me a 1-month extension. Since they had not yet done anything and I couldn’t get them on the phone, I sent them an email canceling their representation, as I decided to just pay the fine and do traffic school. The next morning I received a text message saying they contacted the court as my attorney of my record. I was not happy about this, but decided not to waste any more energy on this matter and let them do their thing. A week later I received an email saying that after paying $196 fine the citation will be reduced to a non-moving violation, but I would still have to do five hours of traffic school! So this was a net negative outcome for me. The lawyer fee + fine ($546 combined) was more than the original citation ($506), and I still had to do traffic school, despite the law office’s reassurance to the contrary. Terrible communication, net negative outcome, all around waste of money and the feeling that you’ve been had by a sleaze bag lawyer. 5 thumbs down."
