Royal Kuhio Resort Condos

"The Royal Kuhio is in an ideal location to walk everywhere in Waikiki. You find delicious food right out your front door and beyond. The building is being repaired, as it is an older building. Everything in our units was in working order. Peek a boo view of the ocean from my Waikiki facing lanai was great. There are 31 floors in this location. Pool is ok, not fancy and hot tub and rest of deck under construction. We had so much to do didn't use it or miss it."

"We left a bag in our room and the ended up throwing it out instead of trying to contact us. Not very welcoming when we got there or when we were leaving very flat and awkward. Not a great start or end to a trip."

"We checked in yesterday and today I am giving this place 2 stars because aside from finding multiple cockroaches running around the sink and kitchen area.. I was cleaning the coffee maker to make coffee, when I found not one..but two and baby coachroaches in the filthy coffee maker!!! I felt like throwing up. We’ve been to tropical climates before and other islands in Hawaii but have never ever encountered this problem in the kitchen!! Absolutely disgusting, unsanitary and shouldn’t have happened. Now I have to wait till 8am to speak to the front desk as only security is available at this hour. We haven’t cooked or left anything open in the counter at all. This was the first morning in the kitchen. I have worked at hotels in the past and this is never acceptable. Finding one or two is different than finding multiple running around the kitchen counter and sink let alone inside, a coffee maker you’re about to use. We’ve never experienced this when we stayed in Maui and Kauai. Updates: they gave us a new and clean coffee maker (thank you Maiko) and they plan to spray the kitchen area tomorrow. After the spray there were still some left. We found them in the cabinets where everything was also sealed and all over the washed plates. Also in the dishwasher even when everything in there is cleaned and dried. Hopefully the next guests won’t have this issue. On the good, the rests of the unit looked clean and looked updated. There was construction going on during the day but never really bothered us. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Security there day and night."

"I was apprehensive staying here, but so glad I did. I was there because VI has some properties there. Location was better than I expected. I thought they'd be closer to the canal, but they are pretty centrally located to all spots on Waikiki. Parking was easy. Staff was helpful and friendly, especially housekeeping. These are standard condo type rooms with kitchens, bedrooms and living areas. The pool area is really nice. It was great just to relax there, which I don't often do when you're so close to the beach... This place will definitely be an option to stay at next time."
