Weylin, my instructor, was so positive, always cheering me on, and wanted to make sure I learned as much as I could. "I can’t recommend Ky and Weylin more. They were excellent instructors with great attitudes and patience.This is our second big island surfing lesson, and was hands down better. We had Ky and Weylin working with our group of 4 first then our group of three. We all successfully surfed which was not the same experience we had when we did a group instruction with another surf shop in Kona. "So much to love. Ian, Lauren, and Ky are all incredible. First, we took a lesson from Ky and WOW! He taught us so much that we were immediately comfortable paddling in conditions and vastly more efficient and comfortable. The HYPR boards are works of art. They are beautiful, super high performance, and super high quality construction. Even though we have three SUP shops within 15 minutes of our home we bought two boards from Ian and had them shipped to us. They were far superior to the large company boards we were used to and the value for the money is incredible since they don't spend on marketing or distribution. Also it feels good to support a local family business and being able to talk directly to the designer any time is invaluable. Ian is a wealth of information and is passionate about making sure you learn technique and understand the equipment along with sharing local knowledge . He is truly tireless. He has promptly answered every question I could throw at him and many I hadn't thought of yet. Lauren is the kindest person on earth and so helpful with logistics and support. It was so easy to arrange shipping and pickup. I will never buy a board from anyone else and will paddle with them every time I visit the Big Island."

"My HYPR Canoe Paddle!!! I got all 3!!!! And let me tell u this!!!! Change in blades is good!!!! Don’t stay stuck in old ways old traditions!!!!! Try it!!!!! I’ve been paddling since 1993!!!! And I have tried and purchased all types of canoe paddles blades from Gillespie,Kialoa,Makana Ali Paliku and even the quick blade the concave one it ant the same like the hypr disciplinary paddle…..if you use a flat blade you have used them all this is not they catch water but when you slip or rush you don’t know with this blade you know when you messed up paddle wobbles so it kind of makes you slow down your stroke and makes you think about what you are doing but you are going to have to try it out this blade every stroke is a good bit if you are doing it right but don’t take my word for it go try 1 out"

"I bought a 12ft XL gun from Ian and it was hands down the best experience possible. It shipped from Big Island to Oahu in 24 hours, arrived well packed and ready to go. I had no prior SUP experience before and he took the time to walk me through key points based on my size, strength, location and athletic background.
