"Searching for breakfast we stopped by the hotel with this restaurant. We had the standard buffet breakfast as no menus were presented. Generic basic eggs, piled bacon, potatoes, the usual buffet. For perspective, Denny's has better breakfast. The view was nice though limited to their small beach bordered by tall bushes. We received the bill. $32 for a breakfast buffet??? Went elsewhere other mornings enjoyed the views and much more reasonable prices. This set the tone as an inflated priced hotel that burned this person's interest to stay in the future."
"Dinner and breakfast here on a quick trip - Super happy and attentive staff! Nice live musician during dinner. Had a sunrise view over Mauna Kea during breakfast."
"So disappointed. We have stayed at this hotel twice before. Both times pre-COVID. We considered this restaurant’s breakfast buffet to be the best on the island. That was then. We stayed in Hilo this trip but made the pilgrimage across the island for this buffet. The service was just as good. The ambiance the same. The food sucked. The choices were fewer. The quality was so much less. The only good item was the omelette. The gentleman who made it was good. Otherwise it was a wasted trip. We had told several couples at our hotel to whom we’d raved about this restaurant. We made sure to tell them to not bother."
"Expensive, but not terribly so. I had the Crab Cake appetizer ($18) two with Tropical Relish & Remoulade, which were delicious. I then ordered the Meat Lovers Flatbread ($18), which was very like a personal pizza, except it was very well appointed, with Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Ground Beef, Shaved Red Onions, Alii Mushrooms, & Tomato Sauce. It was filling enough as a meal, but other Entrees range from $21 to $25, with Mahi Mahi ($30) and Sirloin Steak ($35) dishes."
"We had the seafood buffet which was fabulous. There was an entire room of appetizers including clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, salads, raw fish specialties and crab legs. Everything we tried was excellent especially the crab legs. The main course offerings were prime rib, tempura shrimp and zucchini, and a pasta station where you choose your own ingredients and they cook them for you adding either Alfredo or marinara sauce at the end. All of the entrées were delicious. Yes we tried them all! Service was also excellent. Although this was a buffet all selections were plated by the staff who were numerous so that there was no waiting in line. Afterwards there was a dessert bar also excellent. And live music too."
