"They weren’t lying - food portions were huge! Got the tita loco moco and was not able to finish my plate so took it home. I also got the Mauna Kea iced coffee that was dressed with condensed milk and whipped cream that was just ok. My friend got a breakfast combo that included a side of pancakes that were HUGE. The servers were friendly and on a Friday at around 11, we got seated right away. Cash only establishment."

"Food portions are huge! Ordered the breakfast and chose pancakes as one of the sides and pancakes alone were a full meal! Service was lovely and we were explained the menu very well. Food came out fast and hot, did not need to wait for a table. Will come again! Also make sure to try the banana Mac nut pancakes and order haupia cream in the side!"

"Triple WOW for this local breakfast and lunch spot. If you love breakfast, this is the place to go. I had the Portuguese sausage breakfast with the pancakes, and my husband had Da Big Mok, both of whom were amazing. We're going back to try some of the other local favorites."

"A friend suggested that if we wanted to have an extraordinary breakfast or lunch, we should plan to eat at the Hawaiian Style Cafe in Waimea. On Saturdays, Waimea has a great farmer’s market, do we decided to combine our desire to support the local farmers and check out the cafe. It’s a cash only restaurant so don’t go unless you get to an ATM first! However the food was outstanding. They serve GIANT sized portions of pancakes, omelets and all kinds of sandwiches. They also serve an iced coffee with whipped cream and coconut flakes that was better than any gelato or shaved ice I’ve eaten on the Big Island. The cafe has a brilliant system for handling the crowds who come to their restaurant. Outside the entrance, you sign into an iPad, with your name, cellphone etc snd then get texted and called when your table is ready. They apologized for being understaffed but, trust me, it’s worth the wait. We ordered their Volcano Omelette but asked-to please hold the green peppers since my wife’s allergic and I ordered their french toast. Had I ordered their pancakes, I’d still be eating it since it’s so large, it must be over 14 inches in diameter! Our brunch was FANTASTIC and we were delighted to have a great Hawaiian Style lunch!"
