"Folks at the pro desk are always very knowledgeable and very friendly."
"I ordered 6 pieces of lumber on the 11th. I called the pro-desk to verify and inform the employees that I needed the boards rough-cut in half. The gentleman on the phone sounded as if he was rolling his eyes the entire time he was talking to me. Quick question, is it okay for employees to perform advertised services the same way a bratty teenager does chores??? I have had this issue EVERY TIME I order lumber, by the way. After speaking to the pro-desk employee (I chose the pro desk because customer service was not very helpful, see: previous issues), he actually called me back to verify my requests (that was a deceptively good sign) I thought to myself, AWESOME! And you know what? I didn't pick the order up until the 12th! 24 hours and plenty of communication should have done it??? No sir. When I came to pick up my order the pro desk employee, with pants sagging and the complete absence of any professionalism picked up a phone without saying anything and told me my order was at the customer service desk. I went to the customer service desk, and while walking there I noticed a cart with what seemed to be exactly what I ordered, just not cut in half. The cart was also loaded with various store items (gloves, an eye washing station, and what appeared to be hardware for the store's shelving.) The presentation was disrespectful (apparently deliberate) at best. The customer service rep helped me promptly, as opposed to the pro desk where employees were having personal conversations directly in front of me- complete with cussing and street language. The pro desk employee was more polite to his co-worker than he was someone who is making sure his pay checks cash. Back to customer service- the employee there was extremely helpful until she also picked up a phone, said nothing, then told me someone would be WAITING for me at the chop saw(as in, she implied another employee was aware of my needs) I reluctantly tapped into the last shred of patience I had to trek to the back of the store to do something I was told would be done the day before. I was the only person back there and another customer was taken care of first (plywood cuts). Still patient, I knew I would be next. Nope. When I politely got the employee's attention he gave me one finger and walked over to help another customer, who also arrived after me. Oh yes, this trip has lasted about an hour at this point. So I demanded a refund, which took an additional ten minutes. This happens EVERY TIME I order anything but tools/ hardware. Every time. That little customer service Mickey mouse-escapade cost me $150 dollars. I had to return the items because they won't fit in my car (is that the reason I get the runaround and treated like an inmate by the employees here? Is it some b.s. personal philosophy?) I'm a pacifist and a combat veteran. Sometimes you have to earn your check, right? So what is so hard for these employees? How easy do they want their jobs to be? This is ridiculous. Thank you for making it a little harder to feed my family this week. I hope your little games were worth it. I will be sharing this experience with every email I can find for Home Depot."
