"I’m sure this location is normally a fine place, but what should have been a pretty simple transaction was fouled up, taking too much time and effort. I had gone to this location several months ago, opening a checking account in anticipation of an outlet for dispersing funds from a wealth management account being set up. I noticed that I was being asked to give up a lot of my Constitutional freedoms with an offer to join a mobile application. I decided I didn’t want to be inundated with Spam, so I didn’t sign up for the mobile app. I later learned I would be receiving printed statements, and would need to sign into my account electronically to switch to digital statements or be charged a monthly charge. I tried to sign into the website on my mobile device to turn on digital statements but the website refused to allow me to. I have limited access to computers, but after a month was able to get on one and locate the command to turn off printed statements. I had received one printed statement and charged the monthly fee which made me mad. What a horrible way to serve your customers; requiring use of a mobile app to turn off printed statements just so you can charge for something they didn’t want. There was a separate fee I had covered with a large balance, so I found it sneaky to find some way of charging me another fee for deposting funds! Anyway, the following month I again received a printed statement and was charged a monthly fee! This pissed me off and I decided US Bank didn’t really want my business. I returned to this location and closed out that checking account. Here’s where the incompetence of the branch came in: Apparently in order to close the account they have to issue a cashier’s check and then cash that check. Well, I had placed a Pay On Death name on my account… and they issued the cashier’s check to that beneficiary! Hello! I’m not dead! In order to fix their mistake it took them an additional 30 minutes to figure out how to reissue the check in my name, wasting my time and creating a long line at the teller. As I left with my cash, I could see other customers wondering why it had taken so long. The incompetence of the tellers. While I waited for them to fix their mistake I noticed several tellers getting advice from the head teller; probably the only one who knew what they were doing. I’m sure this location must have a high turnover of people. Do they not pay employees enough or do they hire from the bottom of the barrel?"
