"I feel compelled to share my experiences after the lack of accountability after speaking with the office manager. We waited a 1 1/2 and were not seen. 30 minutes after our appointment time I went up to front office staff ( Who was very helpful and kind) to ask how much longer it would be. After inquiring with the back office staff I was told they would get me back when a room was available. That took another 20 mins. There was no apologies from the back office staff regarding the wait, no greetings, and no real interaction on her end. Her bedside manner left something to be desired. After taking my daughter's vitals she said she would let the doctor know I was ready. 30 mins after we had been sitting in the room I was again inquired about how much longer the wait would be. I was told at that time there was another patient ahead of us and we would been seen after that. This could have been commicated when we were placed in the room. I waited another 10 mins before dediciding it was time to leave. The kind front office staff was quick to refund me my copay. I asked to speak to the office manager to relay my frustration regarding the poor communication of the back office staff and she was full of excuses. In one breath she says that they do not know when a doctor is going to be behind (what?) and then tells me that doctor is frequently behind. When I tried to tell her my frustration was not in the wait time but in the lack of communication she made more excuses and again never apologized. She basically shurgged her shoulders. My frustration is not in the wait time. Things happen it was the udder lack of communication from the back office staff and lack of ownership by the office manager. I hope that they do better in the future but I will not be going back."
"Title: Unfortunate Experience at Northern Nevada Allergy: Poor Communication and Lack of Accountability My recent encounter with Northern Nevada Allergy has left me deeply dissatisfied and frustrated. Unfortunately, I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience to caution others seeking allergy care. I was charged for services that were never rendered, and attempts to address my concerns with the office proved futile. When I reached out to discuss the discrepancies and provide evidence through a voicemail confirming that the promised vials were not prepared, my concerns were neglected. The staff refused to acknowledge the oversight and dismissed my valid complaints. Furthermore, the clinic's refusal to communicate via email, citing HIPAA concerns, raises questions about their transparency and accessibility. In this digital age, the absence of email communication is inconvenient and leaves patients with limited avenues to express their concerns. What is most disheartening is the clinic's reluctance to take accountability for their poor planning and failure to complete the services they charged me for. This lack of responsibility and commitment to rectify their mistakes is deeply troubling. If I could rate this facility, it would certainly be a 0/5. I strongly caution anyone considering Northern Nevada Allergy for their allergy care needs. It's essential for healthcare providers to treat their patients with respect, communicate effectively, and rectify mistakes promptly. Sadly, Northern Nevada Allergy fell short on all these fronts, and I strongly advise seeking allergy care elsewhere."
"We called the office for my son who had extreme allergy like symptoms in August of 2023 and the earliest appointment was in October of 2023. To triage the symptoms we also saw our pediatrician in August. His symptoms started getting worse to a point where he was coughing so much that he was vomiting multiple times a day and having trouble breathing. He had a few emergency visits, was on steroids, nebulizers, and had x-rays to ensure nothing else was going on. An urgent referral was sent over to this allergist's office but nope, no change in our appt. We had our scheduled appointment in Oct to have an allergy scratch test with the doctor, waited for 1.5 hours to see someone and then was told that the doctor had to leave early and we couldn't do the scratch test either. We were then given an option for bloodwork (which is rough for a 4.5 year old) and then scheduled a back-up appt for a scratch test which was way out in Jan of 2024. We got our bloodwork done in November and called the office as instructed to have the results reported to us and to schedule a follow-up visit to work out a treatment plan. 2 weeks post blood-work results, no call-back, I called the office and left a VM. No call-back, and I called the office 3 weeks post blood-work and spoke to the front desk and they relayed the message to the medical assistants. No call-back and just called today - extremely frustrated. The woman taking my call was defensive, dismissive and honestly not taking any ownership for what is close to negligence of a child's medical condition. This is unacceptable and I hope that this review wakes someone up at that office as this could end in something really horrible for a patient, and in our case a child. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else and as someone who is in the healthcare industry, I can't believe medical professionals would treat a patient this way."
"Horrible horrible service. Working in the medical field over a decade- inpatient and outpatient in multiple specialties, in multiple facilities including Government facilities. The care received was unacceptable and appalling! The physician spent less than 15 minutes with 2 new patients who sat and waited over 3.5 hours. The appointment was at 4:30. We were 15 minutes early and did not get out of there till 7:30 PM. The little time the physician was in the room she was not able to make eye contact , mumbling Her words and then, when she told me that my husband should take a medication for his symptoms that he’s been on for years, I asked her if she even opened his chart or looked at his meds. She did not know what to say Stuttering stood up and left . The Physician seemed to be so tired or under the influence!!!. Also charged my husband 195$ for no treatment or care - this is fraud. Not sure Medicare would approve of this per CMS guidelines - I would advis the office to see what a new patient visit code entails in detailed description. Called office manager for the last two days and left VM with no responce."
"An outstanding Allergy and Immunology clinic and practice! Dr. Jeffrey Nugent, his clinical team, and his office staff have definitely got their practice together. I have been seeing Dr. Nugent for many years now and I love his bedside manner and that he takes time to explain things, give me possible differential diagnoses and things to research for myself, and I sent my older daughter to him too and she likes seeing him too! I can't give this practice high enough praise! If you are in Carson City, you can visit the office on Silver Sage. If you don't like getting allergy tolerance shots or cannot make it into the office for the shots, they may have an alternative for that too."
