Girls Empowerment Middle School Las Vegas is a tuition-free public charter school located at 4220 South Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas, Nevada. Unfortunately, the school will be closing at the end of the current school year due to financial difficulties stemming from low enrollment.

GEMS was Nevada's first all-girls public charter middle school, offering STEM education in a supportive and empowering environment. The school focused on fostering the next generation of leaders by teaching self-respect, critical thinking, and integrity. Small class sizes allowed for personalized attention and strong teacher-student relationships.

The Board of Directors voted unanimously to close the school, with Assistant Principal Mr. Michael Taack appointed as the Trustee during the closure process. The Trustee will assist students and families with transitioning to new schools for the upcoming school year.

Despite its closure, GEMS was known for its commitment to Social Emotional Empowerment, rigorous academics, and individual attention. The school aimed to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment that supported students' success both in school and in life.

Although GEMS will no longer be operating, its legacy of empowering young girls to be leaders will continue to inspire future generations.
