"If you have school age children you owe it to your sanity to look into the ccsd magnet schools. Public magnet schools outperform charter, private, and neighborhood schools in every metric available. East CTA was awarded the best magnet school in America distinction in 2018."
"Relative to CCSD, this is a good school! I feel like people need to take into account that most schools have issues like these, especially CCSD. There's a bad teacher shortage. Last year, all medical teachers left, and our sophomore marketing teacher moved away. Beautiful campus. A lot of the students are only there because their parents made them go, though, so don't expect a bunch of smart, motivated people. The students are pretty average high school students. Also, this is not a difficult school. Due to covid, they now get 50% minimum on any missing work, and you have till the end of the quarter to turn in any late/missing work, with full credit. Students complain a lot about the difficulty, but honestly, most of them aren't paying attention. There are a lot of nice things about the school, like the décor, the program opportunities, but you can't expect something perfect. It's a good school."
"I graduated class of 2011 and loved my experience there! All of the teachers were amazing, especially my marketing and history teachers! They have a lot of amazing programs and clubs to choose from. I heard the old principal left, which sucks as she was the driving force over keeping the school in tip-top performance with her care for the students. Can’t say how it is now, but I had a younger brother with an IEP program that struggled there as they aren’t as receptive to IEPs and yet what school is? Come here if you’re able to work in groups and can juggle multiple projects (both group and individual) or want the challenge, as senior year I was juggling around 2-3 projects per class, as well as my main project to graduate: the senior project. Overall I had an amazing time but I cannot say how it is now."
"The teachers were all right. The school is very small. A lot of the people are the same it's not a very diverse place but they do work together as a community to bring together everybody and have a good time. They have a lot of clubs and a lot of great programs to offer I would recommend the marketing program any day."
