"I echo the previous review: office staff interrupt, don't listen and are dismissive. I'm a sub ... and the office staff (asst. principal? because the office manager and principal were BOTH "out"...on a Friday,) insisted that one of their teachers hadn't requested an afternoon sub. I suggested they call the teacher, and I was told: "She's in class. We can't interrupt." Well, I've been a sub for 7 years and I've never heard of such a thing. The office interrupts me when they need to...like if something's changed or a child is going home early. So, I asked twice: "Are you sure you don't want to call the teacher?" And they let me go. (I had the wherewithal to sign in though.) By the time I got home the teacher had left me TWO MESSAGES wondering where I was. Incompetence at its best. (There's more but this is the condensed version.) I am getting paid for my trouble by the way. The woman (asst. principal) who wouldn't call the teacher should be fired."
"Please today I not going to school today is Last word of my room in me Last"
"I have no idea how this school has a 5/5. This is the worst school my daughter has ever attended. The office staff (particularly the principles) is extremely rude and everyone seems to have a distasteful, low work ethic, & dismissive demeanor. The cafeteria staff & librarian is rude to the children & one parent had to initiate a lawsuit against one of the staff members for physical abuse. This school has no after school activities and no organized way to pick your child up after school. You wait in a long line of cars and hope the line keeps moving to pick your child up on time. School is out at 3:25 but if you dont pick your child up by 3:30 then he/she is sent to the office to wait for you to sign a late pick- up sheet. When you're late the office staff likes to rudely stress how you NEED to be on time to pick your child up without taking after- school pick-up suggestions into consideration. They also love to cut you off while you're speaking and never listen. There's no school security and just about anyone can walk off with your child if your child "taps out" from their assigned teacher to be released. There's no organized way way to pick up children via car. You have to find parking on one small street and hope the random neighborhood cop isnt there to harass you for whatever reasons. If you park in the rear, you have to walk around the entire school to get to the front to pick up your child because they refuse to let parents thru the back gate to pick up their children. The parking on the side of the school is blocked off from parents to park because it's staff parking. So you mean to tell me that staff cant park in the rear for the parents to park on the side to pick their kids up on time? Why is this school so inconsiderate to families and rude to the children? Being from california, im used to organized pick-ups, school security, and staff that works with parents with the upmost respect and determination to make the school better. As well as teachers who (should know how to spell for one) know their curriculum, and grades their students accordingly. This school simply does the basics to get by and as a parent, you just hope your child will excel past the lackluster performance of the staff here by going in depth and teaching what they lack from school- at home. Seems as if they are programmed to disrespect African American families and Im not the type to pull the racist card, but being originally from Louisiana, I have to call a spade for what it is. I would never recommend this school. Its hell in a handbasket. I thank GOD my child will be attending a better school next school year because if I had to deal with this school again, I would propably sue the entire staff for repetitive disrespect and unprofessionalism. If you can avoid this school, by all means, you will not regret it."
